From Brawl to Legendary: Surprises Inside 5 Gladius Cases

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors.
This season is almost over, and at moments like this I usually start counting two things: Glint ready to be exchanged and Merits that have quietly piled up from Brawls. While waiting for the right time to open cards from Glint, I decided to do something just as exciting—opening Gladius Cases.
And this time, when I checked… my Merits were already above 10k.
The meaning was simple: it was time to buy 5 Gladius Cases.

If you do the math, opening 5 cases means 25 Gladiator cards will appear. That’s enough to expand the collection, or who knows—maybe even enough to level up a few cards that have been waiting for upgrades for a long time.
With a bit of curiosity, I started opening the packs.
In the first pack, five cards revealed themselves one by one.
There was no big surprise, but it wasn’t disappointing either.
There were 2 rare cards, the rest were common.
A result that felt pretty normal for a Gladius pack.
I’ve opened Gladius Cases often enough to know that surprises usually come when we’ve already stopped expecting anything.
And sure enough… they did.

When opening the second pack, the atmosphere changed.
The first card appeared normally.
The second card was still nothing unusual.
But when the third card appeared… it started shaking.
When that happens, there’s usually only one possibility.
Legendary.
And sure enough, the card that appeared was Sola Ranjell from the Water element.
Honestly, I paused for a moment just staring at the screen. It’s not every day you pull a legendary card from a Gladius Case—especially when you’ve only opened the second pack. It felt like finding a bonus halfway through the journey.
After that small burst of excitement, I continued with the third pack.
Two more rare cards appeared—nice additions to the collection.
But right at the final card, the screen shook again.

I even laughed a little to myself.
“Come on… twice in a row?”
And somehow, it was true.
The card that appeared was Fina Voxom, a legendary card from the Fire element.
Two legendaries in a single Gladius Case opening session is definitely not something that happens often. It felt like a small lucky day in Splinterlands.

After those two big surprises, the last pack felt calmer.
From it, I got 2 rare cards and 1 epic, which I think was a pretty good way to close the opening for the day.
But there was still a small surprise left when I started checking my collection.
It turned out the Fina Voxom I had just obtained could immediately be upgraded to level 2.

This upgrade grants the Piercing ability, meaning its attack won’t stop at armor. Any remaining damage will go straight through to the enemy’s HP. In many situations, an ability like this can be decisive—especially against monsters with thick armor.

So that’s my little story this time—turning Merits from Brawls into 5 Gladius Cases, and unexpectedly getting two legendary cards at once.
A result that honestly made me smile today.
My strategy going forward is pretty simple:
keep joining Brawls consistently, collect more Merits, and use Gladius Cases to strengthen the gladiators I already have—especially those with strong potential when leveled up.
Because in Splinterlands, sometimes just one new card is enough to change the course of a battle.
Hopefully in the next Brawl the Merits will pile up again… and who knows, maybe luck like this will show up once more. ⚔️
