From Silver I to Gold III: Opening 11 Reward Chests

avatar

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!

There is a small sense of satisfaction I always get when playing Splinterlands: watching that tier number slowly climb after battle upon battle. It is not quite like receiving your first paycheck—although, honestly, the feeling is not that different. The difference is that one goes into your bank account, while the other goes into a chest.

This season, I began my journey in Silver III in Modern format. I took on each battle one by one. Sometimes I won in style, and sometimes I lost in a way that definitely does not need to be shared with the neighbors.

But the important thing is that the journey eventually brought me up to Gold III.

And as usual, every tier progression comes with League Reward Chests. This time, I had the chance to open 11 chests.

Eleven chests.

Enough to make my hands start itching.

From Silver I to Gold III

For me, the journey from Silver I to Gold III was not just about chasing a higher rating. I am also trying to slowly build up my card collection along the way.

Some matches feel easy because the lineup fits perfectly. Others show warning signs right from the beginning, but I still go ahead with the confidence of someone who is perhaps a little too confident.

That is Splinterlands.

Sometimes, a strategy you carefully planned gets defeated by a single enemy card that simply fits the ruleset better. Other times, a lineup you put together almost casually ends up bringing you an unexpected victory.

That is why reaching a higher tier this time felt quite satisfying. Especially after finally making it from Silver I to Gold III.

And then came the part I had been waiting for the most: opening the chests.

Eleven Chests in Front of Me

I had eleven chests waiting to be opened.

I do not have any special ritual. No long prayers, no knocking on the table three times, and definitely no asking the neighbors to press the button for me.

I simply opened them one by one.

Here is what I received:

  • Coralforged
  • Surgeblade
  • Thornmaw Berserker
  • Husk of the Hunter
  • Phlegmor
  • Ruinkeeper

Besides those cards, I also received 2 Common Scrolls, 170 Merits, and 2 Energy.

Looking at the rewards, it might not be the kind of chest opening that would make me scream loudly enough for three houses to hear.

But there was one name that immediately made me pause for a moment.

Ruinkeeper.

This is a new card for my collection.

And for me, getting a new card always feels a little different.

Duplicates are important because they can eventually be used to level up a card. But getting a card that you have never owned before feels a bit like discovering a new resident in your house. You do not know yet whether they will become an important member of the family or simply sit quietly in the collection, but at least they are now part of your army.

Ruinkeeper, the New Member of My Collection

Out of all the rewards this time, Ruinkeeper is the card that made me the most curious.

I do not want to talk too much about its abilities just yet. First, I want to try it out, see how it performs in battle, and find out whether it can earn a place in the lineups I usually use.

Because sometimes, the stats shown on a card page are not enough.

There are cards that look fairly ordinary but turn out to be extremely useful when a certain ruleset appears. On the other hand, there are cards that look amazing on paper but, once they enter the arena, perform like an employee who came to the office just to clock in.

So, for now, I will save the Ruinkeeper story for later.

I will discuss this card in more detail in my next post.

Final Thoughts

I am quite satisfied with this progression from Silver I to Gold III and with the eleven League Reward Chests I opened this time. Not getting a legendary card does not mean this opening was a failure.

In fact, the new Ruinkeeper card became the most interesting part of the rewards for me.

My strategy remains simple: keep playing, climb the tiers, collect rewards, and use the cards I get to gradually strengthen my collection. For new players, do not focus too much on chasing expensive cards. Start by mastering the cards you already own, understand their synergies, and let your collection grow naturally along the way.

Because in Splinterlands, sometimes the best reward is not the most expensive card.

Sometimes, the best reward is simply one card that makes you say:

"Well, this is something I can try in my next battle."

And for me, this time, that card is Ruinkeeper.
