Pummeled by Healing And The Champion Stalled

Hello there, Splinterlands warrior.

We meet again in the weekly roundup, a mix of hope, strategy, and a few gentle complaints. Before stepping into the arena, I just want to say: may the crypto downturn truly be over, and may it be time for HIVE to climb back up slowly and steadily. No need for a rocket ship, just consistent growth is enough to bring peace of mind to players.

For those who might be new here, Brawl in Splinterlands is like an inter-guild league. All members descend to battle in their respective frays, and the results are tallied. There's no such thing as a lone hero. If one person is skilled but the others fall, the final result can still be disappointing.

As usual, Fray 12 remains my home. This fray has 9 battle slots, but this week only 5 were filled and I genuinely had to fight them. The remaining four were automatically converted into wins—like winning by default, a nice boost to the score without needing to think too hard.

Out of the 5 battles I fought, I managed to win 4 of them. Honestly, that was beyond expectations. The strategy I set felt right, the formations worked, and key cards performed as planned. But, well, it's Brawl—there's always that one battle to remind us that there's always someone better.

Personally, I contributed 8 wins to the guild. However, the cumulative team results were only enough to land us in third place. Not bad, but not something to be overly proud of yet. The rewards we received:

The guild has won spoils of 43 Crowns
Every full member received 2,150 Merits, and players with a spellbook got 21,459 staked SPS.

Decent for soothing the soul, though not exactly a victory celebration.

My one defeat this time came from a water element team with incredibly resilient healing abilities. It felt like bailing water out of the ocean—you hit them, you attack, but they just bounce right back. I tried pressuring from different angles, but their healing was just too consistent.

For those who are curious, the full battle can be seen here:

As for Gladius Packs, this is always the dilemma-inducing part. My Merits have only accumulated to 9,161 Merits so far. Not enough to open the 5 Gladius packs that are my personal target. One more Brawl should actually secure it, or if I'm impatient, I could buy a few Merits from Gwen’s Shop. But it seems more satisfying to wait one more round, to feel like harvesting after planting.

What I enjoy most in all of this isn't really the numbers. The guild community itself is the most tangible treasure. For new players, joining a guild and participating in Brawls is like a free school. We learn from others' formations, from teammates' defeats, from small discussions in the chat. No one becomes a master instantly, but everyone can grow if they're willing to share and listen.

This week's lesson is simple:
a good strategy can win, but even better healing can be frustrating.

And for you, if you want to join a Brawl, don't just focus on winning. Enjoy the process, learn from the losses, and save your Merits patiently. Because in Splinterlands, sometimes the most exciting part isn't the final result, but the story along the way.
