Splinterlands Weekly Challenge | Ant Miners The Hidden Predator 🐜

THEME: ANT MINTERS

This is my first post in hive blog. And I want to participate in weekly challenge battle, shared by @splinterlands

Ant Miners is a common card, which I got from opening reward chests. I currently have 2 cards level 1 ant miners. For beginners like me, this card is very helpful in battles with limited mana. I decided not yet to upgrade the level, because the summoner I have is still low level.
Maybe I'll upgrade to level 6 or level 10 later.

A Monster Introduction

At Ant miners level 1 that I have, this card only has 1 health point. So if you are not careful, then the ant miners is an easy target for your opponent. But at level 10, you will have 3 health points and also a shield. Of course, with scavengers and shields, chances of winning will be easy to get, if the placement of ant miners is appropriate in the fight.

Ant miners will be very advantageous if fighting against water types. Because the water type has the property of attacking the front monsters. So when combined with speed and reduced health points. as well as monsters that have a sneak or snipe. then the ant miner will be at the peak of its strength.

My Battle

Preparing for battle

Since I'm still a rookie, my battles are at Bronze II level. The enemy I faced, often used the type of water I saw from the history of the last battle.

With 16 mana, I estimate the enemy will use magic-type monsters that have low health points. So I use Pyre 1 to be a summoner in this battle. Because I need speed in attack.

Enemy Team Lineup

Summoners : ALRIC STORMBRINGER *1
Enemies Use SPINEBACK TURTLE. With 1 Speed Points.
ENCHANTED PIXIE with 2 magic points and 1 Health Points. Flying ability is a threat to my monster.
ICE PIXIE with Speed to 3 points and 1 Health Points. Flying ability is also a threat to my monster attack being miss.
and ELVEN MYSTIC with 1 Speed Points and Health Points to 2.

Team Lineup

Summoners : PYRE *1
CERBERUS, GOBLIN SHAMAN, SERPENTINE SPY, ANT MINERS, CREEPING OOZE

My strategy went smoothly for such an enemy formation. I have 2 monsters with 4 speed points. make CERBERUS and SERPENTINE SPY attack in the beginning.

In the 1st round,, the SERPENTINE SPY immediately kills the ENCHANTED PIXIE, so that it adds 1 Health Points for ANT MiNERS. At the end of round 1, CERBERUS is killed by the attacks of 3 enemy monsters. So add another 1 Health Points for ANT MiNERS.

In the second round,, the SERPENTINE SPY immediately attacked the ICE PIXIE. 1 more Health Points for ant miners. At the end of round 2, GOBLIN SHAMAN still has 1 Health Points SPINEBACK TURTLE still has 5 Health Points but misses when attacking.

In the 3rd round, SERPENTINE SPY did his job successfully. and add another 1 Health Points for ANT MINERS. SPINEBACK TURTLE is still attacking the goblin shaman.

In the 4th round, the SERPENTINE SPY makes the SPINEBACK TURTLE have 3 HP. And at the end of round 4, the GOBLIN SHAMAN is killed and adds another 1 Health Points for the ANT MINERS. The death of the GOBLIN SHAMAN increases the SPINEBACK TURTLE's Health Points by 1.

In the 5th round, the SERPENTINE SPY was killed. make the ANT MiNERS face to face with the SPINEBACK TURTLE with Health Points totaling 7. An ANT MiNERS attack which is only 1 point makes the fight continue to round 6.

In the 6th round, 1 x 1 damage battle between SPINEBACK TURTLE and ANT MINERS

In the 7th round, the ANT MiNERS managed to kill the SPINEBACK TURTLE and won the battle with 2 monsters remaining on my team's side.

Do You Use ANT MINERS Often?

ANT MINERS is very useful in low mana battles. But I don't use it very often. except in low mana battles and facing water-type enemies. And ant miners are paired with enemies who use the speed type and have monster snipe/opportunity.

On the other hand, ant miners will become easy targets if they don't have shields like at level 1. that's the point of upgrading the level of ant miners.

Also, with only 2 points, sometimes ant miner becomes my alternative choice besides FLAME MONKEY + CREEPING OOZE.

For this battle, I won it, because my estimation was right by looking at the battle history and the type of monster used by the enemy. maybe due to luck too. But from this battle, the maximum ability of ant miner can be seen. Maximum 7 health points for ant miners, increases according to the number of rounds.
