The Amorendel Event in Splinterlands

Hello Splinterlands warriors, welcome back to my Splinterlands post. How are you doing this week? Hopefully your GLINT is safe, DEC is stable, and your ranked streaks are still kind. 😄

A few days before the new Ranked season begins, Splinterlands announced “Amorendel Arrives in Splinterlands.” This event runs from February 1 to February 15, and to me, it’s far more than just a cosmetic add-on. Amorendel feels intentional. From a brand-new arena and a new ruleset to avatar skins and wardrobe items with a very strong theme—love, rivalry, and obsession.

The moment you enter your first match in the Amorendel arena, the atmosphere feels instantly different. The new arena is filled with romantic colors, but don’t be fooled. Beneath the Valentine vibes, the battles feel even more ruthless. It’s like a duel of love: beautiful, dramatic, but one wrong move and it can end tragically.

The most surprising part for me is definitely the new ruleset modifier: Hey Jealousy.

The rule is simple, but the impact is brutal. This completely flips my usual habits. Normally, we’re comfortable placing a thick tank up front. In Hey Jealousy? That tank becomes the primary target from the very first second. If you’re someone who often relies on a favorite high-health unit and expects it to survive for a long time… get ready for disappointment, because it might actually be the first to fall.

From this, I was reminded of a classic Splinterlands lesson: never get too comfortable with a single pattern. This ruleset forces us to rethink positioning, sacrifice units, and how to “hide” large Health pools. Frustrating? Yes. Challenging? Absolutely. And that’s exactly where the fun is.

Amorendel Skins: Sweet on the Outside, Dark on the Inside 💖🖤

Now let’s move to the most mouth-watering part: Amorendel Skins.
There are 20 skins in total, all unit skins, with 2 versions for each of the 10 Conclave Arcana units:

• Sweetheart Versions 💕
• Obsessive Versions 🖤

And these units are no joke—from Buttercup Mauler (Common) all the way to Legendary names like Jicarilla the Rime, Calamity, Taye Loreswift, Bren Palesworn, and Oridum Graybrow.

The Sweetheart Versions can be purchased directly from the Glint Shop during the event. The prices are still reasonable, and honestly, this is one part that makes me really happy. For players who grind Ranked and collect GLINT, these skins feel achievable—not just for “whales.”

The Obsessive Versions, though… that’s a different story.
They’re only available through Ultimate Loot Boxes, with a 1% drop rate, a total of 100 skins, and only 10 mints per unit. Once they’re gone? They’re gone forever. Every chest opening feels nerve-wracking. I haven’t been lucky enough to get one yet, but honestly, that tension is part of the drama.

Beyond card skins, there are also Amorendel Wardrobe Items for avatars. From Heart-Shaped Shades, Elegant Top, to Broken-Heart Top. All are available for Body 1 and Body 2, and you can preview them beforehand.

Sure, they’re purely cosmetic and don’t affect gameplay. But honestly, seeing your avatar wearing Valentine-themed outfits while jumping into Ranked gives a small, hard-to-explain satisfaction. These little details make the overall experience feel more personal.

For me, Amorendel isn’t just a Valentine event. It’s a reminder that Splinterlands is still bold enough to experiment—both visually and mechanically. I’m happy, challenged, and genuinely entertained.

So my advice: don’t just focus on the skins—use this event to learn the new ruleset and step out of your comfort zone. As for the skins? Pick the ones you love. Sweet or Obsessive, both are valid. 😉
