The Escalation Meta Begins to Show

Warm greetings, arena warriors! May your spirit stay strong even though the world of Splinterlands is now bustling with new cards from the Escalation series that seem tougher than ever. Sometimes it feels like stepping onto a new battlefield—the weapons are the same, but the opponents arrive with more advanced technology.

This time, I want to share a story about the latest Brawl with the CLANFT guild.

To be honest, this brawl didn’t exactly put a wide smile on my face. It wasn’t a total disaster, but it also wasn’t a result worth boasting about.

The CLANFT guild still managed to secure 3rd place, which is actually quite good. It means that collectively our team can still compete with other strong guilds. But if we look at my personal record… well, let’s just say it was a bit bitter.

Out of 8 battles I fought, I only managed to win 3 matches. Two of those victories even happened because my opponent didn’t show up or fled the match. So technically they count as wins, but it still leaves that lingering feeling of “hmm… this could have gone better.”

From those results, I only contributed 9 points to the guild.

Even so, the rewards were still decent:

  • 1,800 Merits
  • 20.594 SPS (staked)

Not bad for adding to the savings. I’m still holding onto the Merits, because my plan remains the same as before: wait until I have enough to open multiple Gladius Packs at once. It usually feels more exciting when you open a bunch of packs together.

When the Strategy Is Similar, but the Outcome Is Different

One battle that was both interesting and painful was this one:

👉 LINK BATTLE 👈

The match had a 29 mana cap, which is actually quite flexible for building a team.

I chose a ranged attack strategy by deploying several monsters such as:

  • Pixie-Knife Hurler
  • Tatiana Blayde
  • Gargoya Devil

Interestingly, my opponent used a very similar approach. They came with a dragon-element archon and brought a team focused on ranged attacks.

At first glance, our team compositions looked almost identical.

But in the Splinterlands arena, small details often decide big outcomes.

The difference came down to monster positioning and speed. My opponent’s monsters attacked first, and several key targets on my team fell before they could contribute at their full potential.

That’s when I realized something: my positioning wasn’t sharp enough. The strategy itself wasn’t wrong, but the execution lacked precision. And in Splinterlands, one small mistake can quickly turn into a decisive defeat.

I also feel that the game’s meta is starting to shift with the influx of cards from the Escalation series. Some of these new cards have ability combinations that I still don’t fully understand.

Sometimes you feel like you’ve prepared the best strategy, only for a new card to suddenly flip the entire battle around.

But that’s also where the fun lies. This game constantly pushes us to learn again and adapt again.

Closing

Even though my personal results in this Brawl weren’t particularly outstanding, I still enjoyed it. The guild still finished in third place, rewards were earned, and of course there were new lessons about meta and strategy.

My advice to fellow Splinterlands players:

Don’t be afraid of the new meta. Study the new cards little by little, and don’t hesitate to experiment with monster positioning in your team.

Sometimes victory doesn’t come from the strongest card, but from the most precise placement.

See you in the next Brawl, arena warriors. May our strategies grow sharper and may the cards we deploy always fight on the right side. ⚔️
