THIS WEEK’S BRAWL: TOUGH MATCHUPS AND QUORA’S DOWNFALL
![]()
Hello, fellow Splinterlands warriors!
We’re back again with another round of this week’s Brawl results. As we get deeper into December, heading toward the end of the year, the crypto scene is getting even more unpredictable. SPS looks pretty stable while DEC has been jumping up and down—stressful, but honestly it makes grinding feel more alive.
And for those who don’t play Splinterlands or are new to it, Brawls are guild-versus-guild war mode. Each member fights in their assigned fray, and all wins are combined into a collective score. So here, whether you win or lose isn’t just about pride—it’s about contributing to the whole team.
This Week’s Brawl Result: Not My Best, But Still a Story
To be honest, this Brawl wasn’t my strongest performance. I was placed in Fray 12, and out of 5 battles, I only managed to win 2. The opponents this time were tough—tight card compositions, high levels, and clearly ready for war.

Even so, I still contributed 5 total wins for the team across all available battles. Unfortunately, the overall guild result wasn’t enough to bring us to the top rank.
Here’s the recap:
- Our guild finished in 3rd place
- A total of 87 wins
- 44 Crowns
- 2,200 Merits
- 30.697 Staked SPS for spellbook players
Not a bad run, but definitely not the most satisfying either. It feels like running at full speed but the finish line still looks far away.

But here’s the good news:
I finally have enough Merits to open a Gladius Pack.
These are savings from several previous Brawls, and honestly… I can’t wait. Though I’m intentionally holding back.
📦 I’ll open the Gladius Pack in tomorrow’s post.
Let the anticipation build—it feels like holding back a birthday present for myself.
The Most Painful Battle This Week: When Quora Backfires
Now let’s talk about the battle that hit the hardest.
On paper, this should’ve been an extremely favorable match for me:
Fighting in our own guild arena
The opponent couldn’t use Quora
Ruleset:
- Born Again
- Stampede
- Collateral Damage

On paper? This was the perfect stage for Quora Towershead to shine.
Without much hesitation, I deployed two Martyr monsters and placed Quora Towershead as the main pillar.
But… I got too confident.

As soon as the battle started, the opponent showed their fangs. From the frontline to the backline, their team was packed with legendary monsters, featuring:
- Magic attacks above 2 damage
- Thick HP pools
- A disciplined, well-constructed lineup
And here’s where the fatal mistake happened:
I didn’t properly consider the effects of Collateral Damage. With Quora in the front as my tank, every big attack triggered side damage to my own team. Worse, because of Bloodlust, the stronger my hits were, the bigger the potential self-damage became. Instead of growing stronger, my formation basically destroyed itself.
Ironic. Tragic. But also… a very expensive lesson.

Conclusion & Closing Thoughts
This week’s Brawl wasn’t my best. Lost my fray, miscalculated the ruleset, and had to watch Quora fall in what should’ve been her victory stage. But from all that, I’m reminded:
👉 No formation is ever truly safe if you ignore the ruleset.
What keeps me motivated:
- Finally getting enough Merits for a Gladius Pack
- A guild that stays solid
- And the chance to bounce back in the next Brawl
My quick advice:
Don’t rely only on strong cards. Read the ruleset carefully, understand the side effects, and don’t hesitate to learn from defeat—because that’s where your real level-up happens.
See you in the next Splinterlands story.
Let’s hope tomorrow’s Gladius opening brings good luck! ⚔️✨
