UNPROTECTED | BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!

Hello, owners of Splinterlands cards. Meet again in my post. In response to the Battle Mage secrets challenge, I'll talk about the UNPROTECTED game rules. You can also participate in answering this challenge by clicking on the link below.

Knowing the ins and outs of the battle rules in the Splinterlands NFT card game will increase our chances of winning. Because common cards that follow the fighting rules can defeat rare cards that violate the fighting rules.

TARGET PRACTICE

If you come across the above logo in your Splinterlands battle, there are a few things you should be aware of:

  1. The shield bonus will be removed from all monsters and summoners. Yes, there is no shield to protect the monsters in this fight.
  2. Because there is no defense, attacks will directly hit the monster's health points. To kill your opponent first, use monsters with high attack power and speed.
  3. The shield will protect the monster from earthquakes. If an earthquake rule is in effect, non-flying monsters will take direct damage to their health points.
  4. This rule simply removes the defensive shield bonus. Meanwhile, the unprotected rule will not affect Skill Shield or Divine Shield.

RULES AND TACTICS

This battle has two distinct rules. Specifically, unprotected and earthquake. As previously stated, monsters do not receive a shield bonus in this battle. Meanwhile, if the monster does not have flying skills, other rules will cause it to lose health points. Even though the effects of earthquakes are usually mitigated by monsters' shields. It's just that the unprotected rule no longer protects non-flying monsters from earthquake damage.

The mana cap in this battle is 31 points. While the elements that can be used are earth, life, death, and dragon. Because of the earthquake rules, the most effective monsters sent are those with flying abilities.

I chose the death element because I have a large collection of monsters with flying abilities here. As a result, I went with the following formation: PELACOR DECEIVER, RIFTWING, USUT, and CARRION SHADE. Meanwhile, there are two more monsters in which I participated but lack flying abilities: VENARI BONESMITH and VENARI MARKSRAT.

The two non-flying monsters are being sent for a specific reason. This will be addressed later on in the battle below.

All of my monster's long-range attacks in round 1 will be targeted at MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. Mutual attacks took place, and VENARI BONESIMTH's attack poisoned MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. Due to a lack of health points, an earthquake effect occurred at the end of the first round, removing the VENARI MARKSRAT and SPIRIT HOARDER from the battle.

The martyr effect increases the PELACOR MERCENARY stats in the second round. Because the PELACOR MERCENARY can fly, his attacks are extremely dangerous. And it's a good thing USUT got rid of MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN. The bloodlust effect is activated.

The VENARI MARKSRAT in my battle line took earthquake damage in the third round, which increased the USUT and VENARI BONESMITH stats. Fortunately, VENARI BONESMITH was successful in poisoning PELACOR MERCENARY. RIFTWING is still in the lead with a lot of health points.

In the fourth round, there is only one monster left on the opposing side, REGAL PERYTON. Even if the earthquake ruleset does not apply, if the monster faces four monsters on my side, I will win this fight.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The earthquake ruleset does not mutually support the unprotected ruleset in this matchup. Because, under normal circumstances, the presence of shields can reduce the damage caused by an earthquake. So choosing a monster with the ability to fly is one of the best options for players. And I have a lot of monsters with flying abilities in my Death Element collection.

The ability to send monsters at high speeds increases the likelihood of annihilating enemy monsters. Because every attack directly hits the enemy's health points. This is also a concern when dealing with the unprotected rule.

In this battle, I also used monsters with non-flying abilities to win, specifically by poisoning enemy monsters with flying abilities. I also put a monster with the martyr ability in the middle to boost the stats of my attacking monsters.
Finally, the strategy paid off. Because the flying monster in my team managed to survive and eliminate the enemy monsters one by one.

Thank you for reading all the way to the end; I hope this can help you strategize in splinterlands battles.
