Where Battles Don’t Always Happen: A Brawl Reflection

Greetings, fellow Splinterlands warriors.

This week’s Brawl arrived with two small pieces of news that, somehow, made the smile linger a little longer. I changed my avatar—perhaps a new face can trick old luck. And SPS, yes, it’s been creeping up slowly. No jumping, no shouting. Just enough to make us nod quietly and smile.

As usual, I was placed in Fray 12. A familiar fray. A quiet fray. A fray that often makes us wonder: is this a brawl or a waiting room? Out of 9 battles, only 2 actually happened. The rest were empty—like promises that never showed up. The system, with its cold generosity, handed out free wins.

I played those two battles. One loss, one win. The remaining seven victories came without the sound of clashing blades. Winning without fighting feels strange. But that’s brawl for you: it doesn’t care about our feelings. It only records the result.

Overall, our guild, CLANFT, moved neatly. Not rushed, not careless. The numbers can be read, but they don’t need excessive celebration.

Enough to take home 49 Crowns. Every fully participating member received 2,450 Merits, and those with a spellbook earned 26,973 staked SPS. With SPS prices being friendly, the reward feels a little sweeter—not because of its size, but because it came at the right moment.

Of my two battles, I accepted one loss without many excuses. I misread the match. The opponent maximized Opportunity, while I let my guard down. No card was wrong. Only my confidence arrived too early. Brawl, like life, never offers discounts for carelessness.

In the battle I won, however, there was a small moment that made me smile to myself. Nostalgia.
I met Furious Chicken again—a zero-mana card that once felt like treasure. A tiny chicken, often a shield against fate. Free, yet decisive.

Unfortunately, nostalgia doesn’t always defeat the meta. In Briar Patch, poison and magic speak louder. The opponent brought too much melee, like entering a poisoned field with sharp knives and excessive confidence. The chicken may be remembered, but this game is never sentimental.

As for the Gladius Case, this time I chose restraint. I haven’t exchanged my Merits yet. The plan is simple: save until I have five cases, then open them all at once. The sensation is different—like saving up stories, then reading them all in one night. If nothing goes off track, the time is near—and of course, I’ll share the results of that Gladius opening.

A small note before I sign off:
join a living guild, don’t underestimate a quiet fray, and read the ruleset twice—because one small decision often shapes an entire week’s story.

See you in the next Brawl.
May the SPS price remain friendly.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!
I’ve been enjoying your Splinterlands posts too. Maybe adding a few tags like the ones I use could help with visibility and upvotes. !PIZZA
