BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge

RULESET: Equal Opportunity

Description:

All units gain the Opportunity ability which allows them to attack the unit with the lowest health on the enemy team.

The Opportunity Ability is one of my favorite abilities so I like the Equal Opportunity Ruleset. In battles with the Equal Opportunity ruleset, all monsters have the Opportunity Ability.

  • Monsters with the Opportunity Ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

In battles with the Equal Opportunity ruleset, my usually preferred strategy is I add one or two Monsters with the Martyr Ability to my team and put them next to Monsters with high health and attack power, even if possible Monsters with the Heal Ability. Honestly my strategy is simple but very effective, and I can honestly say that I can win more than 80% of battles with Equal Opportunity ruleset with this my strategy that's why I love this ruleset so much.

  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.

By the way, in battles with Equal Opportunity ruleset, my favorite unit is the Earth Unit and my second favorite unit is the Fire Unit because when I choose these units, I have the chance to use two Monsters with Martyr Ability. Finally, I would like to point out that my favorite trio in battles with the Equal Opportunity ruleset are Quora Towershead, Fungus Flinger and Venari Marksrat. And my favorite Summoner in such battles is Lobb Lowland. Today I did three battles with the Equal Opportunity Ruleset and my strategy in all of them was pretty much similar so I wanted to share all three, I hope you like them.

Battle Ruleset
Weak Magic
Tis but Scratches
Equal Opportunity
Only Fire, Water and Earth splinter can be used
Mana Cap 48

  • Weak Magic Ruleset : Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health.
  • Tis but Scratches Ruleset : All Monsters have the Cripple ability.
  • Equal Opportunity Ruleset : All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.

MY STRATEGY

In this battle, I chose Lobb Lowland as Summoner without hesitation. And I added Quora Towershead with the Bloodlust Ability and the Heal Ability, Fungus Flinger with the Martyr Ability and Venari Marksrat with the Martyr Ability to my team. I put Quora Towershead next to them and I put all three on the backline. To be honest this is my standard strategy in battles like this and it really works very well in these types of battles. I can recommend this strategy to you, and I can clearly say that it works very well in the Silver and Gold Leagues. You'll agree with me when you try. And I put Monsters with high health and attack power next to monsters with Martyr ability. I put Grund with the Double Strike Ability in the last position and Arkemis the Bear with the Protect and Halving Abilities in the second position.

  • Opportunity Ability. : Monsters with the Opportunity Ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.
  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.
  • Double Strike Ability : Monster attacks twice each round.
  • Protect Ability : All friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor.
  • Halving Ability: Each time this Monster hits a target, the target's attack is cut in half (rounded down).

To be honest, my strategy is very simple, but I can honestly say that this strategy has helped me win many battles.

BATTLE COMMENTS

battle11.png

The most important reason why I prefer Fungus Flinger and Venari Marksrat in such battles is their low health. Since they had 4 health and all enemy monsters had the Opportunity ability, they would target them first. In such battles, it is part of my strategy to destroy them first by the enemies. Because they have the Martyr ability, when they die adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. This allows monsters adjacent to them to be more effective in battles. This is exactly what happened in this battle.

Quora Towershead is a Gladiator that can already be very effective in battles as she has Heal and Bloodlust Abilities, and increasing her stats by +1 twice can make she much more effective in battles, so I love this type of battles and this strategy.

In this battle, the opposing team was more powerful than my team, so they started the battle very well. Although the opposing team seemed more advantageous at the beginning of the battle, after the Monsters with the Martyr Ability in my team were destroyed, the advantage in the battle passed to my team. Quora Towershead and Grund's attacks were particularly impressive. Increasing their stats and hitting the target twice was a big advantage for my team, and it was a big disadvantage for the opposing team.

My strategy worked pretty well in this battle and it only lasted 5 rounds even though the battle was 48 mana. In such battles my goal is to keep Quora Towershead alive until the end of the battle and when I can do that I usually win these types of battles this battle was one of them. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link, I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset
Are You Not Entertained?
Earthquake
Equal Opportunity
Only Earth, Life and Death splinter can be used
Mana Cap 31

  • Are You Not Entertained? Ruleset : One additional Gladiator card may be used in battles.
  • Earthquake Ruleset : Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.
  • Equal Opportunity Ruleset : All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.

MY STRATEGY

My strategy in this battle was very similar to that of the first battle above, so I won't go into detail. This battle had 31 mana. In the first position I put Terraceous Grunt, which costs 6 mana and has 10 health, in the second position I put Regal Peryton with the Flying Ability. This battle had the Earthquake ruleset so even though adding Quora Towershead to the team seemed like a disadvantage, I didn't hesitate to add her to my team as she has the Heal Ability.

This battle had the Earthquake ruleset so even though adding Quora Towershead to the team seemed like a disadvantage, I didn't hesitate to add her to my team as she has the Heal Ability. The battle lasted only 4 rounds, at the beginning of the battle Quora Towershead had 1 Magic Attack, 2 Melee Attacks and 3 Speed, when the battle was over it was remarkable that she had 7 Magic Attacks, 7 Melee Attacks and 8 speed. That's why Quora Towershead is my favorite in this type of battle. It was also remarkable that the opposing player used a Monster with the Martyr Ability, but my strategy worked better so my team was able to win this battle. I recommend you to watch this wonderful and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link, I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset
Equal Opportunity
Only Earth, and Dragon splinter can be used
Mana Cap 31

  • Equal Opportunity Ruleset : All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.

MY STRATEGY

My strategy in this battle was pretty much the same as in the battles above. Frankly, I couldn't decide which one to share, so I wanted to share them all. I won't talk about my strategy in this battle because I mentioned it in detail above, but I recommend you take a look at my opinions below.

BATTLE COMMENTS

battle32.png

In this battle, I strategized so that monsters with the Martyr Ability would be destroyed first, so the opposing team attacked to destroy them first, and when they were died, Quora Towershead, Grund, and Regal Peryton's all stats increased, making them more effective in battle. That's exactly what I'm aiming at in battle like this. This battle was a bit more challenging for my team because the opposing team was more powerful than my team but the result did not change. As long as Quora Towershead is not the target of the opposing team and survives, I have a better chance of winning such battles and I determine my strategy accordingly. My strategy worked well in this battle and my team was able to win this battle. I recommend you to watch this great and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link, I hope you like it.

MY OPINION

I like battles with Equal Opportunity ruleset because I can determine more stable strategies in such battles. Frankly, I usually prefer to attack by focusing on certain targets in my strategies, in other words, I don't like scattered attacks. The fact that all monsters have the same ability in the battle allows me to determine better strategies and increases my chances of winning. That's why the Equal Opportunity ruleset is one of my favorite rulesets and I can honestly say that I've won over 80% of such battles. And in such battles, if I have the opportunity, I use at least one Monster with Martyr Ability and I aim to destroy the opposing team with the monsters I put next to them. But first of all, I make sure that Monsters with the Martyr ability are the target of the opposing team, so I don't use Monsters with lower health than them unless I have to. And this strategy of mine works very well in many battles, the above battles were the best examples of this.

What are your thoughts on the battles? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.

My goodness, the combination of those two Martyr ability monsters is so good. Quora literally goes crazy after those monsters died. 😂😂
