In battles with the Even Stevens Ruleset, only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles, but this rule does not apply to summoners. The Even Stevens Ruleset is a simple ruleset, and you'll be more likely to win battles if your deck includes powerful cards that cost even mana. I can say that in battles with the Even Stevens Ruleset, I generally use cards with the Double Strike Ability and Heal Ability more.

Battle Ruleset

  • Up to Eleven: All Monsters have the Amplify ability.
  • Lost Magic: Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
  • Even Stevens: Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy units by 1.

MY STRATEGY

According to the ruleset of the battle, all Monsters in this battle will have the Amplify Ability, and monsters with magic attack cannot be used, and only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used. Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the opponent player's last 5 battles and considered the rulesets of the battle, it was difficult to predict what kind of strategy the opponent player would team up with, but I could predict that there would be a level 2 Cornealus in the opposing team. Frankly, I knew that this battle would be quite difficult, so I had to determine a good strategy to win the battle.

My lineup and strategy are as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : HELIOS MATRIARCH

Helios Matriarch is a Dragon Summoner that allows the use of one additional Gladiator card in battle, and grants +1 speed to all friendly monsters. I wanted to use both my dragon cards and life cards in this battle, and I also want to use a gladiator card, so I chose Helios Matriarch as the summoner. Also, thanks to the Helios Matriarch, all monsters in my team would have +1 speed, and I thought having high speed would be advantageous in this battle.

Position 1: DJINN CHWALA

Djinn Chwala is a Dragon that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Thorns Ability from level 1. The most important reason why I added Djinn Chwala to my team is that it has the Thorns Ability, and I put it in the first position. And according to the battle ruleset, since all monsters in this battle would have the Amplify Ability, enemy melee attack monsters that hit Djinn Chwala would take 2 + 1 Melee damage back.

  • Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 Melee damage back to the attacker.

Position 2: CORSAIR BOSUN

Corsair Bosun is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Reflection Shield Ability and Reach Ability from level 1. The most important reason why I added Corsair Bosun to my team was that it had the Reflection Shield Ability, and thanks to this ability, he would not take damage from Thorns. If the Corsair Bosun can survive until the end of the battle, I could win this battle, so I will make sure he is not the first target of the enemies.

  • Reach Ability : Melee attack Units with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.
  • Reflection Shield Ability : This Unit doesn't take damage from Blast, Magic Reflect, Thorns, or Return Fire.

Position 3: CELESTIAL HARPY

Celestial Harpy is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Flying Ability and Opportunity Ability from level 1. The purpose of adding Celestial Harpy to my team was to destroy them with it if there would be monsters with Heal Ability or Repair Ability in the opposing team. I put Celestial Harpy in the third position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Opportunity Ability : Units with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Unit with the lowest health.

Position 4: DHAMPIR INFILTRATOR

Dhampir Infiltrator is a Dragon that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Sneak Ability, Double Strike Ability and Cripple Ability at level 5. And I put Dhampir Infiltrator in the fourth position. Frankly, I guessed that the opponent player could put the Monster with Heal Ability in the last position.

  • Sneak Ability : Targets the last Unit on the enemy Team instead of the first Unit.
  • Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.
  • Cripple Ability : Each time an enemy is hit by a Unit with Cripple it loses one max health.

Position 5: VENARI CRYSTALSMITH

Venari Crystalsmith is a Life Monster that can attack the target with Ranged Attacks and has Tank Heal Ability from level 1. I can say that I added Venari Crystalsmith to my team because I believe that the Tank Heal Ability will be of great benefit to my team in such a battle. And I put Venari Crystalsmith in the fifth position.

  • Tank Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to the Unit in the first position each round.

Position 6: AJAX LIGHTFOOT

Ajax Lightfoot is a Life Gladiator that can attack the target with Ranged Attacks and has Bloodlust Ability and Dodge Ability at level 4. The most important reason why I added Ajax Lightfoot to my team was that it has 3 ranged attacks and the bloodlust ability, even though it only cost 4 mana. Since it has the Dodge Ability and 6 speed, I put it in last position.

  • Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
  • Dodge Ability : Has a 25% higher chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

As I predicted, the opponent team has level 2 Cornealus. Frankly, if it was in my deck, I would add it to my team in this battle without hesitation. However, I can say that I am surprised that the opposing team does not have a Monster with the Heal Ability.

Round 1

In the first round, monsters from both teams attacked effectively, but Thorns Ability and Amplify Ability caused Coastal Sentry and Electric Eels to be destroyed too easily, so I like to use this combination against melee attack monsters. At the end of the first round, three monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, while one monster from my team was destroyed.

Round 2

In the second round, 2 more monsters from the opposing team were destroyed against my team's effective attacks, and Dhampir Infiltrator was also destroyed due to the damage caused by Thorns. Frankly, it was not possible for Dhampir Infiltrator and Celestial Harpy to survive against Cornealus, I could already guess that. Frankly, my strategy worked very well and at the end of the second round, only Cornealus remained on the opposing team.

Round 3

Only Cornealus remained on the opposing team, and it had no chance of surviving against the Corsair Bosun and ranged attack monsters. After Celestial Harpy hit Cornealus, it was destroyed by the back damage it took from the Thorns, but the other monsters in my team destroyed Cornealus in the third round and my team managed to win this battle.

Although the mana cap of the battle was 39, it lasted only 3 rounds. At the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 3 monsters on my team were still alive. To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also very good, but my strategy worked better, especially adding the Corsair Bosun to my team played a big role in winning this battle. I might have won this battle without the Corsair Bosun. Thorns Ability and Amplify Ability is a combination that can be very effective against melee attack monsters when used together, so I attach great importance to using this combination in such battles. On the other hand, since Monsters with the Reflection Shield Ability do not take back damage from Thorns, this combo does not work against them, so I attach great importance to including the Reflection Shield Ability in my lineup in such battles. This battle was a good example of this. I recommend you to watch this very interesting and challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
