Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Holy Protection Ruleset | Splinterlands

avatar

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well in your life. Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Holy Protection Ruleset.

Holy Protection Ruleset

In battles with the Holy Protection Ruleset, all Monsters have the Divine Shield ability. And when Monsters with the Divine Shield Ability take damage for the first time, it is ignored, meaning that the damage of the first attack taken is reduced to 0. Additionally, when a Monster is resurrected, the Divine Shield is reapplied. And Blast damage removes the divine shield.

When all enemy Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability, I think attacking in a scattered manner can be a disadvantage, I think it is more effective to attack a single target and destroy only one enemy at each time. When all enemy Monsters have the Divine Shield Ability, attacking in a scattered manner may not be very efficient, and I think it is more effective if all friendly monsters attack a single target. For example, imagine that in the first round all friendly monsters hit different targets; and they will only have removed the enemies' divine shield, whereas if they had attacked a single target they could have destroyed one or more enemies. I usually target the enemy in either the first position or the last position in battles with the Holy Protection ruleset , and I can say that it is a strategy that works better for me.

Battle Ruleset

  • Briar Patch: All Monsters have the Thorns ability.
  • FabFour: Up to Four Units can be used.
  • Holy Protection: All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

According to the ruleset of the battle, all monsters in this battle will have Divine Shield Ability and Thorns Ability, and up to four units can be used.

First of all, I will choose Immortalis as the summoner because I think it will be advantageous for all monsters in my team to have Void Ability, Shatter Ability and +1 health in this battle. Especially the Shatter Ability will be very effective in this battle because even if the enemy Monster has the Divine Shield Ability, it will lose all its armor when hit by the Monster with the Shatter Ability. That's why I attach great importance to including the Shatter Ability in my lineup in such battles, and thanks to Immortalis, all monsters in my team will have it.

Even though all enemies have the Thorns Ability, I will put Mycelic Infantry in the first position, and since it has the Shield Ability, it will only take 1 damage from Thorns, so Thorns damage will not affect it too much. However, if the opposing player has the Amplify Ability in their lineup, the damage it will receive from Thorns will be 2. Additionally, I will be including the Amplify Ability in my lineup.

And in the second position I will put Runemancer Florre, who has 2 ranged attacks and 2 magic attacks. I believed that Runemancer Florre's attacks would be quite effective in this battle.

In the third position, I will put Queen Mycelia with Protect Ability and Amplify Ability. I thought it would be advantageous for all monsters in my team to have +2 extra armor.

And in the last position I will put Goblin Psychic with Tank Heal Ability and Affliction Ability. I believed both abilities would be very useful in this battle, the Tank Heal Ability restores a third of max health to the Monster in the first position each round, while the Affliction Ability has a chance of applying affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed (When it hits a target, it has a 50% chance of applying Affliction).

I would like to point out that I determined the lineup of the monsters according to their abilities and health, and since I thought the opposing team would not have Sneak Monsters, I put the ones with the lowest health in the last positions.

Frankly, the opposing player's strategy is also very good. In such a battle, it is really smart to include Heal, Tank Heal, Repair, Shatter and Resurrect abilities in the lineup. When I saw the opposing team, I was glad I chose Immortalis as the Summoner and added Goblin Psychic to my team.

Round 1

In the first round, the Shatter Ability worked very well within both teams, and War Pegasus destroyed 5 armor of Mycelic Infantry in one hit, while Runemancer Florre destroyed 7 armor of Uriel the Purifier. However, having the repair ability on the opposing team would make my team's job difficult, but this was not a big problem because all the monsters in my team have Shatter Ability. And especially Goblin Psychic applying affliction to Uriel the Purifier in the first round was great news for my team, as Uriel the Purifier, the hardest monster to destroy on the opposing team, now became easier to destroy.

Round 2

And Uriel the Purifier was destroyed by Runemancer Florre early in the second round, but the Resurrect Ability brought it back to life with 1 health. Even though it had 7 armor, it was not difficult for my team to destroy it and Uriel the Purifier was destroyed again with only 2 hits. Uriel the Purifier was the hardest monster to destroy in the opposing team, and after it was destroyed, my team's job became very easy because it will not be difficult for my team to destroy other enemies.

Round 3

In the third round, Adelade Brightwing was also destroyed and the opposing team had only 2 Monsters left and War Pegasus can't attack from the first position, which meant that my team won the battle.

Round 4

Goblin Psychic puts in a great performance in this battle, and in the fourth round it also applied affliction on War Pegasus, which means it will also be destroyed in the next round.

Round 5

In the fifth round, the last two remaining monsters on the opposing team were also destroyed, and my team managed to win the battle.

The battle lasted 5 rounds, and while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, all the monsters on my team were still alive, which shows that my strategy worked quite well in this battle. Especially the Shatter Ability and Affliction Ability were very useful in this battle, if I hadn't included these abilities to my lineup, I wouldn't have won this battle so easily, and I might even have lost the battle. This is exactly why I attach great importance to including these abilities to my lineup in such battles. In particular, Goblin Psychic showed a great performance in this battle, both ensuring the survival of the Mycelic Infantry and making it easier to destroy the monsters in the first position on the opposing team.
