BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! Melee Mayhem Ruleset
In battles with the Melee Mayhem Ruleset, Melee Attack Monsters can attack from any position. I think the Melee Mayhem Ruleset is one of the most strategically rich rulesets,because there are so many abilities that can be useful to my team in battles with this ruleset, sometimes I have a hard time deciding which one to use.
The abilities I use the most in battles with the Melee Mayhem ruleset are Thorns Ability, Bloodlust Ability, Inspire Ability, Demoralize Ability and Double Strike Ability. I also take care to use units that have magic attack as well as melee attack and armor all monsters in my team.
Frankly, the Melee Mayhem ruleset is one of my favorite ruleset, but battles with this ruleset can be very challenging because it can be very difficult to predict the opponent's strategy.
I will share a battle with Melee Mayhem Ruleset, I hope you like it.
Battle Ruleset
- Aimless: All Monsters have the Scattershot ability.
- Heavy Hitters: All Monsters have the Knock Out ability.
- Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
- Active Units : Fire, Water and Earth
- Mana Cap : 47
I knew that Quora Towershead with the Bloodlust Ability could be very effective in this battle, but unfortunately I didn't have a chance to use it because it was banished for me. But I was almost certain that the opposing player would prefer Quora Towershead. I needed a different strategy to win this battle and I can say that I determined my strategy accordingly.
First, I chose Kelya Frendul as the summoner so that all monsters in my team have extra +1 armor and 1 speed.
I will be using the Void Ability in the first two positions also Djinn Oshannus is a monster that can defend well against all monsters but I will put it in the second position.
I'll put Coastal Sentry with the Double Strike Ability in the third position, I can say that it is the card I use the most in this type of battle.
I think magic units with Blast Ability are very effective in battles with Aimless ruleset, so I will put magic attack monsters with Blast Ability in the fourth and fifth positions.
And I put Diemonshark in the last position, Diemonshark can both defend well against sneak monsters and is a monster that can be very effective in such battles with its abilities. Especially Trample Ability can be very effective in some battles.
I would like to point out that I have determined the line up of my team according to the health and abilities of the Monsters.
Summoner : KELYA FRENDUL
Kelya Frendul is a Water Summoner that gives +1 Armor and +1 Speed to all friendly monsters. I chose Kelya Frendul as my summoner, believing that +1 speed and +1 armor could greatly benefit my team in this battle.
Position 1 : BAAKJIRA
Baakjira is a Water Monster that doesn't have any attack power and has Void Ability, Slow Ability, and Strengthen Ability at level 2. Even though Baakjira doesn't have any attack power, I believed it will benefit my team in this battle with its abilities, so I added it to the team and put it in the first position.
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
- Slow Ability : Reduces the Speed of all enemy Units by 1.
- Strengthen Ability : All friendly Units have their Health increased by 1.
Position 2 : DJINN OSHANNUS
Djinn Oshannus is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Void Ability and Phase Ability at level 2. Djinn Oshannus is a monster that can be very effective in battles with its abilities and can defend well against many monsters, especially against magic attackers. I put Djinn Oshannus in second position.
- Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
- Phase Ability : Magic attacks can miss this Unit (using the same hit/miss calculation as Melee and Ranged attacks).
Position 3 : COASTAL SENTRY
Coastal Sentry is a Soulbound Monster that can attack the target with Melee Attacks and has Double Strike Ability from level 1. I added Coastal Sentry to the team as I thought the Double Strike Ability would be very effective in this battle. I put Coastal Sentry in third position because I wanted to keep it away from the enemies' initial attacks.
- Double Strike Ability : This unit attacks twice each round.
Position 4 : FLAGULON REINE
Flagulon Reine is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Blast Ability and Bloodlust Ability at level 1. Blast Ability and Bloodlust Ability can be very effective in battles with Aimless ruleset, so I added it to the team and put it in fourth position as it only has 6 health.
- Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.
- Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
Position 5 : RIVERBOAT CAPTAIN
Riverboat Captain is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Blast Ability and Affliction Ability at level 4. Since I believed the Blast Ability would be very effective in this battle, I added it to the team and there would be two monsters with the Blast ability in my team. Riverboat Captain only had 5 health so I put it in fifth position.
- Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.
- Affliction Ability : When this Unit hits a target, it has a 50% chance of applying Affliction on the target causing it to be unable to be healed.
Position 6 : DIEMONSHARK
Diemonshark is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Malee Attacks and has Trample Ability and Enrage Ability at level 4. I believed that Diemonshark would be very effective in this battle with its abilities and having 6 armor, 8 health and 4 speed was a huge advantage, and I took into account that there might be sneak monsters in the opposing team and I put it in the last position.
- Trample Ability : When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target with a Melee attack, it will perform another Melee attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.
- Enrage Ability : This unit has 50% bonus Melee attack and Speed when not at full health.
To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also very good, but I think it was a huge downside for them that most monsters on the opposing team didn't have armor. Also, as I predicted, Quora Towershead was on the opposing team.
Round 1
In the first round the monsters on both teams attacked their targets effectively and in the first round the opposing player's strategy worked very well Quora Towershead's all stats increased by +1 twice and all of Grund's stats increased by +1 once. Frankly, if they had armor, it would have been very difficult to deal with them.
It was admirable that no monsters missed in the first round and they all hit their targets. While one monster from my team was destroyed, 2 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed. Frankly, destroying monsters with the Martyr Ability meant that the opponent's strategy was working.
Round 2
In the second round, monsters with the Double Strike ability were very effective and could easily destroy their targets thanks to their abilities. Coastal Sentry easily destroyed Quora Towershead, while Grund easily destroyed Djinn Oshannus. Drybone Raider was also attacking very effectively indeed. In the second round, one monster from each team was destroyed.
Round 3
After the effective attack of Diemonshark in the third round, 2 monsters from the opposing team were successfully destroyed at the beginning of the round against the brutal attacks of Coastal Sentry. At the end of the third round, only Drybone Raider remained on the opposing team.
Round 4
In the fourth round, Drybone Raider only had 2 health so it wasn't hard to destroy it and my team managed to win the pretty hard battle.
The battle lasted only 4 rounds even though it was 47 mana, I can say that the reason why the battle was so short was the Double Strike Ability, melee units with the Double Strike Ability are really effective in such battles. In this battle, the fact that the monsters in the opposing team have no armor was a big disadvantage for them, while it was a great advantage for my team that all the monsters in my team had extra +1 armor. Frankly, if all the monsters on the opposing team had extra +1 armor, it would be very difficult for me to win this battle. That's why I put a lot of emphasis on armor in battles with the Melee Mayhem Ruleset. The Thorns Ability could also be very effective in this battle, but unfortunately I don't have any cards with the Thorns ability in the Water Unit and the Neutral Unit.
