What is the Advantage of Using Taunt Ability and Triage Ability Together? Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

(Edited)

All enemy Monsters target the Monster with the Taunt Ability, meaning that the enemy monsters will not attack other Monsters until they destroy the Monster(s) with the Taunt Ability. Knowing the target the enemy monsters will attack allow me to set better and more stable strategies, which is why I like the Taunt Ability.

There are 12 Monster cards with the Taunt Ability in Splinterlands. Among them, Agor Longtail and Iziar are my favourites. So why? Iziar is very effective against Magic Attack Monsters as it has the Void Ability. I won't hesitate to use my Iziar card if I feel that the opposing player will prefer Magic Attack Monsters. Since Agor Longtail has Flying and Void Armor abilities, it can be very effective against all enemy monsters, but I think it is more effective against Ranged and Melee Attack Monsters, so I would say I prefer Agor Longtail much more. Sometimes I even use both together according to my strategy. The main disadvantage of both is that they cost high mana, Itziar costs 11 mana, Agor Longtail costs 15 mana. Therefore, it is not advantageous to use them in low mana battles. I generally prefer them in battles over 30 mana.

I usually use Monsters with Taunt Ability in the first or last positions because I take into account the possibility of Monsters with Blast Ability on the opposing team. But I usually prefer to use them in the last position, I think it's more efficient to use them in the last position. When I use a Monster with the Taunt Ability on the backline, I make sure to add at least one Monster with the Triage Ability to my team to make it harder for them to be destroyed. Because Monsters with the Triage Ability heal the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage.

Monsters with the Triage Ability

There are 13 Cards with the Triage Ability in Splinterlands, 2 of which are summoners. Spirit Hoarder is my favorite as it's in the Natural Unit because I get a chance to use it in a lot of battles.

By the way, it is not advantageous to use the Taunt Ability against the Fury Ability, because Monsters with the Fury Ability do double damage to Monsters with the Taunt Ability. Also, Monsters with the Scattershot Ability ignore the Taunt Ability.

To support what I have explained above, I will share my 3 battles below, I hope you like them.

By the way, so that the article does not take too long, I will not comment on each battle separately because my strategy in all battles is almost the same, but I will make a general comment about all of them below.

Abilities

  • Taunt Ability : All enemy Monsters target this Monster (if they are able to).
  • Void Armor : Reduced damage from Magic attacks.
  • Void Ability : Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
  • Flying Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Triage Ability : Heals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage.
  • Blast Ability : Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster.
  • Fury Ability : This Monster does double damage to targets with the Taunt ability.
  • Scattershot Ability : This Monster's attacks hit a random enemy target.

BATTLE COMMENTS

In all three battles, my strategy was pretty similar, and the Taunt Ability works very well for me in many battles because knowing the target of the enemies allows me to set better and more stable strategies in battles. And when I can make it harder to destroy Monsters with the Taunt Ability, my odds of winning battles increase significantly. When I use Monsters with Taunt Ability on the backline, Triage Ability helps me a lot in making them harder to destroy. The battles above are a good example of this. By the way, when I use the Taunt Ability in the first position, I use the Tank Heal Ability to make it harder to destroy it. But as I said, I usually prefer to use Monsters with Taunt Ability on the backline, so using Taunt Ability and Triage Ability together gives a great advantage in battles. By the way, it was remarkable that even though the opponents were quite powerful, any monster on my teams could not be destroyed in the above battles.

Finally, I would like to point out that when I can use Taunt Ability and Triage Ability with a good strategy, I can win more than 70% of the battles, including the most difficult ones.

What are your thoughts on the battles? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
