Battle Mage Secrets - EarthQuake

Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog for another exciting week of battle mage content. This week the Ruleset for the battle mage contest is earthquake.

With this Ruleset, all none flying monsters received 2 physical damage at the end of every turn.

With this Ruleset you should take note that with shield the earth quake affects the shield by just one. I didn’t know this part of the rule and as such I didn’t go in with cards that had shield but rather I wanted to outsmart my opponent but then I was wrong.

Lets rumble.

Well for this game I had another Ruleset which was the aimless; which means all monsters have the scattershot ability. This was a Ruleset which didn’t really play a significant role as earthquake in battle.

So with this in mind I went in for life cards. Not that I wanted to go in with life cards normally but the earth element wasn’t available so my next move was to look in the direction of life cards.

My line up

My first card was Drybone barbarian, a card I use a lot cause of its rage ability. I’ve been able to level it to level 3 so it comes with a lot of added skill.

The next one in line was venari marksrat. A card I normally go in for because if it’s martyr ability. With the martyr ability you should just know I would be going in for captain Katie as my next card because of its bloodlust ability.

The next was scavo technomancer, a card that had the blast ability but with a speed as low as 1 it was doomed even before the battle got real.

Next in line was antique magic card (magi of chaos), a card with 2 magic and was useful only for a few round in battle.

The last card was the war pegasus, a card that shatters the opponent shields it was like u knew my opponent was going to come with shielded cards but it was still not useful in battle.

Let’s get into it.

The game started quite badly for me. My opponent had coastal sentry which attacks twice. As soon as it started to attack Drybone it was almost dead. It tools little to no effort to kill scavo in round one.

With the scattershot ability of war Pegasus it made way for Drybone to attack and kill my opponent’s coastal sentry with a single strike.

But with the earthquake ability it vanquished Drybone and venari in round 2. As I said, my opponent had a lot of shielded cards so it only affected his shield.

Yes, I did get that added bloodlust feature to Katie but it was a bad idea for Katie to be in the first position; I say this because then all attacks were aimed at it and it didn’t even have the chance to use its 4 magic to attack before it was vanquished.

Rather easily magic of chaos was killed when it came in or first position, the only card left was pegasus which doesn’t attack at first position so it was an easy win for my opponent. A game that lasted only 3 rounds would have been more than 3 rounds if not for the earthquake ability.

It was a game I had high hopes getting into but then I was wrong.
