Hi splinter warriors,

Welcome to my blog. The rebellion sales have been going on for almost a week now, hope you’ve gotten your packs now or at least you’re planning to get some packs later on.

This is an entry to the Splinterlands weekly battle mage contest.

Battle Ruleset

Ruleset IconDescription
image.pngSuper sneak: All melee attack monsters have the sneak ability.

With this Ruleset in mind, I went for monsters with melee attacks. No, all my monsters weren’t melee but at least half of my team was melee. And then I went with a summoner that grants all my cards the reach ability making it easier to use the melee cards as well.

1st position

Demonshark, First of all, I like this monster because of two reasons. One of them being that it’s a stampede card and then the other being that this card has a speed of 4. With the speed of 4, it means it won’t take long for it to attack. The demonshark is an 8 mana melee card with 8 health and 6 shied. With the 6 shield, it’s really hard for a non-magic card to get to it so easily.

Round 1

Both of us brought the same summoner but then if you look at my opponent's cards you’d realise his first card was pretty strong with 8 shields.

I was the first to attack in this round with my djinn Oshanus card on his legionnaire Alvar. Unfortunately for me, it’s a card that has the void ability which means my magic attack hits its amor first before its health.

My demonshark was the next to make his move on his first position card after Oshanus attacked it. It could only clear a bit if it’s a shield.

The next attack was made by my xenith monk on his torrent fiend and could only clear a bit of its health with just one melee attack. Then after a few attacks from me, my opponent started to attack. His coastal sentry was the next to lay his attack and it was on my spirit hoarder. With its attack, it finished off my spirit hoarder with its 2 attacks in the round.

After killing my spirit hoarder the next attack was by his swamp spitter on my diemonshark but could only touch its shield.

His torrent fiend attacked my scavo technomancer but since it had just one melee attack it was not enough to kill me off.

His first position card was next to attack my diemonshark and I was happy cause it could just touch my shield once more.

Next, my uraes card attacked his torrent card and killed it, and then the stampede ability came in and I attacked his doctor blight next but didn’t succeed in killing it too.

His doctor gathered the energy and attacked my diemonshark next but didn’t do much of damage. The next attack was launched by my scavo technimancer on his first position card for the last attack of the round.

In this round, he killed one of mine and I also killed one of his.

Round 2

The first attack of this round was made by my oshanus on his legionnaire Alvar and still couldn’t get to his health since he had a swamp spitter to restore his shield each round.

The next attack was by my diemonshark on his alvar and almost removed all of its shield but it was not to be. His coastal sentry did its round of attack and killed off my scavo card in this round.

His Alvar attacked next on my diemonshark and cleared off all of its shield. I then realised I was in trouble with it since it didn’t have any shield, it meant its health was in so much trouble.

My uraes card attacked next on his swamp spitter and cleared its shield. But it has not been used since it was gonna restore it. The last attack of this round was done by his doctor blight on my diemonshark but I was lucky since it had just one magic attack.

In this round, he killed one of my cards and I didn’t kill any of his.

Round 3

Just like in the first two rounds, my Oshanus was the first to lay his attack in my opponent’s first position card almost clearing his shield. Diemonshark followed suit and was able to clear his shield but was was literally useless one more time as his swamp spitter was still alive.

My xenith monk launched its attack on his swamp spitter and as usual, could only clear its shield.

His coastal sentry came in with its usual two attacks in and around and almost vanquished my uraes card only leaving it with one health.

My opponent's swamp spitter replaced his first-position shield and well it became ever more difficult to kill it now. After restoring the shield it attacked my diemonshark which no longer had a shield and took part of its health along.

His first position card was the next to attack and almost vanquished it as well. My uraes card attacked his swamp spitter and almost killed it off too. At this stage, I was hoping the round wouldn’t end so it wouldn’t get a chance to restore its shield but it was ending.

His doctor blight to the honours and did the last attack of this round.

In this round, he again killed one of my cards but I couldn’t kill any of his.

Round 4

As usual, oshanus attacked first and was able to clear my opponent’s first-position card shield but it was of no use as you know it.

My diemonshark attacked next and claimed a bit of its health with its 2 melee. My xenith monk had the chance to attack his swamp spitter one more time without its shield in place and almost killed it off.

image.png

But then his coastal sentry came and killed my uraes card with one of its two attacks of each round.

I was fortunate as its next attack on Oshanus was a miss. Then again his swamp spitter restored the shield of his first position card. And then it attacked my diemonshark which was a miss as well.

But then his first position card with a melee of 2 took the honours and vanquished my diemonshark.

It had the trample ability in place and it attacked my xenith month next but it was not its night.

His doctor took the chance to attack my xenith monk with his no healing ability hence xenith monk couldn’t heal anymore.

In this round, he killed two of my cards and I couldn’t kill any of his.

Round 5 -6

This time round I had just two monsters left. The djinn oshanus and then xenith monk. With my oshanus having the most speed it attacked first as usual and it was on my opponent's first card which had no shield. Then my xenith monk attacked it next and just claimed 1 health.

image.png

With his doctor blight handing me the no-healing ability it was finished for me. I realised it was a match I could no longer win. My cards did put up a bit of a fight but it was over the moment I had xenith monk as the only card remaining for me.

I realised I was going to lose this match when I saw a swamp spitter and a healer in his team. I had no single healer and more than 50% of my team was melee attackers making it hard for me.

I did enjoy the game since my cards didn’t give up easily.
