Hi splinter warriors,

Welcome to my blog. This is an entry to the weekly battle mage secrete contest. This week we have been presented with a rather intriguing ruleset. A ruleset which has always gotten the better part of me up until now. This time round let me show you how I approached this ruleset in this blog post.

Battle Ruleset

Description:

Units lose all abilities.

Summoner effects are still active.

With this type of ruleset one has to be very careful in the type of card he puts in for the the battle. Be reminded that there is no effect on the summoners thus you get the stat buffs from summoners which have special ability. But as for the cards you lose all abilities. This means that cards which provide ability like healing, martyr, last stand and the rest have no effect on the game.

So you have to be very careful here.

Summoner: Franz Ruffmane summoner was my go to summoner for the this game for one reason and one reason only. The Captain Katie. I wanted to have the bloodlust ability play an important role in the game but it seems I was very wrong with my assessment of battle. I totally forgot it was a monsters loose all abilities game hence I lost the battle even before it started.

The Franz Ruffmane summoner is a 6 mana summoner which grants you the ability to use one gladiator card in your line up. It also grants all your cards a +1 shield as well.

1st Position

The Xenith Monk. Ideally I selected the Xenith Monk for it's healing feature. I thought to my self that even though it has just one melee attack it will still be a good addition to the line up because of its healing feature.

The Xenith Monk is a melee card with one melee attack, 3 speed, 4 mana, 6 health and 1 shield. With this I thought I was going to surprise my opponent but I was wrong lol.

Round 1

Even before the game started I knew that I would need a miracle to win this game lol. Looking at my opponents first two cards I knew the game was lost before it even begun in the first place. My opponents first card was the diemonshark, a water card I've come to give so much respect.

The first attack of the game was made by my opponents diemonshark on my Xenith monk and with this attack it cleared it's shield. With no shield it was easier for his other cards to attack me since they were good magic cards. The next attack was still on my xenith monk by his ice pixie but fortunately on my side it had just one magic attack.

But then with Merissa Tridawn on his side I knew I was going in for it. With just one attack on my monk it's health was drastically reduced to 2.

Well my monk tried to make an attack but with just 1 attack and a lot of shield by my enemies xenith monk I just cleared a bit of his shield with that attack.

My captain Katie made a magic attack and got to my opponents dieminshark's health but it didn't kill it.

The last attack of the round was made by my mantoid on his diemonshark but as usual it had only a little impact on its shield.

In this round none of us killed a single card.

Round 2

With the events of round 1 I knew Xenith Monk will die in this round.

My opponent's diemonshark first attack on my Xenith monk in this round vanquished it.

Captain Katie came into first position and got hit badly. With just few hits in this round. Captain Katie attacked back but couldn't do much as usual. The last take of the round was made by my mantoid but could only touch my opponents shield.

In this round my opponents killed one of my cards but I didn't kill any of his.

Round 3

In my opinion getting to round 3 was a wasted of time lol. My monsters were barely hanging on.

The first attack was made by my opponents diemonshark on my captain Katie and could only clear it's shield. After clearing it's shield it made it an easy target now as the next two attacks vanquished it quite easily.

In this round my opponent killed my captain Katie and I killed none of his cards.

Round 4

I was left with just one card and it happened to be a range card which meant it couldn't attack in the first position. So without any difficulty it was killed by my opponent.

I lost this game rather easily and painfully from the onset. I didn't put a good team in and it was what hurt me so bad.
