Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog.

As usual this is an entry to the weekly battle mage secrets challenge. Today our Ruleset is a different one; there are different Ruleset for the battle mage posts each week.

So this week the Ruleset is counterspell.

With this Ruleset, all units receive the magic reflect ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with magic reflect receive damage back.

Even with a Ruleset like this I was still stubborn and went in for majority of magic cards which ended up affecting the outcome of the game.

With this in mind I know I shouldn’t have gone in for magic cards or the choice should have been for just one magic cards but I undermined my opponent. I was thinking my opponent will decide to go in for magic cards as well but then I was wrong.

I went in for a summoner (Thaddius Brood) that subtracts -1 magic and -1 health from the opponents cards. Unfortunately for me my opponent went in for the same summoner but ended up not bringing a single magic card.

My line up

For my first position card I went in for the ulundin overseer, a card that has a lot of health, 5 shield and is a no attack card. One of the reasons why I like it is that apart from its ability to withstand a lot of hits it also grants your second card the reach ability.

So with the reach ability in mind, the second card was cursed windeku. I specifically choose this card to be in the second position to be able to use its melee efficiently.

Helhein Demon was the was the third position card. A card with a lot of health as well and then the flying ability to be able to dodge a few hits from the opponent. With 3 speed I was sure it’ll make a few hits before receiving some.

With the magic reflect ability I went in for djinn Muirat so I could at least have ththe void magic ability even though we had the magic reflect ability in play.

The last card wasn’t even necessary but I still chose it. The ahna chei botanist is a card with the magic reflect ability but I had no business going in for it cause the magic reflect ability was already in play.

Let’s rumble.

The first round was not a good one for me as my magic cards attacked first. They were the ones with most of the speed so it was really easy for them to attack but they had to take back the damage.

Even though I had no casualties in the first round, it was still an almost L for me in round one cause I was slowly loosing one of my strongest magic cards.

It didn’t take long for me to loose it in round 2( the helhein demon). I wasn’t suprised cause it had an ability that made all cards target it till
It died.

Now that the demon was dead the next one in line was my first card position. It did really well as it was able to withstand all the knocks from my opponent cards. It didn’t take long for my magic reflect card to die without doing a single thing in battle.

Cursed windeku tried its best but as long as it continued hitting my opponents cursed windeku it was destined to die.

It didn’t take long for my overseer tank to die in round 4. As soon as my cursed windeku took over it was game over. I had just 2 cards left and hadn’t killed any of my opponents cards.

With just one hit my cursed windeku was gone. With just one card left it was already an L even before it made an attack. It was game over and as far as I know my opponent had an easy battle.
