Making It To Gold

Welcome to my blog once again for my entry into the Splinterlands social media challenge.

So yesterday I was pretty excited about this achievement. It’s a pretty big one for me in my spl journey. I know I would get there one day but I didn’t think it would be this sooner. I’ve been gaming for less than a year; even though it’s been long I didn’t put my hopes in getting into gold league this soon.

I’ve been playing in bronze and silver for a while now and I was pretty satisfied with where I was. I mean, before the new upgrades I decided against upgrading to a higher league cause I wanted to compete for the bronze league leaderboard and the only way I was gonna do that was to play in the bronze league; even the silver league was out cause mehn we have great players there.

So I decided on just staying in bronze for as long as I could. Fast forward to new rules and updates in the game which meant a player couldn’t decide if he wanted to stay in the current league. So with this, it made sure I progressed steadily even though I didn’t want to leave silver or bronze.

But then who wouldn’t want better rewards? The rewards in gold are 3 times better than the rewards in silver and bronze. Even though silver is higher than bronze I still feel like you literally get the same rewards in both bronze and silver. So being in gold is genuinely better.

I’ve realised a few things after getting into gold though. The SPS rewards are better than expected but now what I expected. Maybe it’s because am in the wild league but I expected it to be better than this. I make around 0.1 to 0.3 sps per win for being in gold. RP earning is better but it still stays a little below 6k. Maybe it’s because of the amount of staked sps that I have. For now, I’d like to play more and try to advance to maybe gold I before this season ends. I’d like to make sure next season I’ll be earning gold seasonal rewards.

One other thing is that the energy bar refill is more costly. in bronze, I used to pay significantly less than I would pay for DEC if I wanna refill it to max. I had just 3 and wanted to fill to max and it was around 5700 DEC, making it around 14 hive. Paying in vouchers will cost you 58 vouchers which is about 4-5 hives for the same amount of energy.

So for now I best believe vouchers are the way to go. Even if you’re in bronze where it’s low I still think you should go for the vouchers option cause it will be significantly lower.

Yes, I do have a long-time aim of getting into diamonds but I can only do that slowly. Am still accumulating and upgrading cards cause I can’t win my battles with level 1 and 2 cards at the level that I am getting to now.
