Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog for this weeks battle mage secretes contests post. As usual this is an entry to the weekly battle mage contests.

For this week the Ruleset for the game is five alive which means only up to five units can be used for this type of battle.

Now with this type of russet comes a huge mana of 57 for this particular game so I had the chance to get in some of my own big boys. I was unfortunate to not get the chance to field in earth cards as usual but I think that chance to field in fire cards is equally satisfying.

Being in the gold league only means am presented with two other rulesets which are helpful at times but then also kill me at times. This time round the other two Rulesets were

• blood and sunder: All units gain the corrosive ward and
• Shades of gray: Only neutral units may be used.

If not for that shades of gray I would have said this other blood and sunder was a positive to me but let’s see how this battle went.

For this battle I decided to go with the yodin Zaki summoner; a summoner which I’ve grown to love so much ever since I decided to go on a renting spree and rent range cards.

With Yodin, which is a 7 mana summoner you get the chance to gain the blast effect for all your cards against the start of battle, you all get an additional life of +1 for your cards and last but not least all range cards gain an attack of 1.

This was how I lined up for battle.

My first card was grimbardun fighter, a card with 9 mana, 3 melee attack and 6 health.

The next being a range card with the abilities to attack in the first position. I chose the gargoya devil so that it could land me a few hits Incase my grimbardun fighter gets killed.

The next was a move to get an additional boost in stats which was why I went ahead to select the venari marksrat.

The magi of chaos was a great addition of magic card since it was an attack of 2 and a speed of 2 as well.

The last was an opportunity card( mad ogre Antichrist) which has 2 attack and 2 speed.

Let’s rumble.

Well round one didn’t turn out how I thought it would even though I was really close to killing his first position card. It did happen at the beginning of round 2. It was an easy kill for gargoya devil since it was already dying.

It didn’t take long for my first position card to killed as well since it was on the edge, with a few hits it was gone.

Gargoya devil came into first position even though I didn’t want it to happen. With just 4 health it was destined not to make it past round 3 in this battle, or so I thought.

The other cards did and awesome job at counter attacking his Drybone raider which has 2 melee attack and one range attack and was destined for greatness if not stopped. Mine you, with the blast ability I was killed 2 cards at a time instead of one. The valet ability made my job easier and I loved it.

Fast forward into round 4, I was left with just his magi of chaos to deal with. Magi of chaos had already taken a few hits from the blast ability so it was living on life support at this stage. With the final attack of my gargoya devil it was gone.

Am not gonna lie, the addition of the blast ability from the Yodin zaku summoner made my job easier. It was hero of the game and I loved it so much.
