Hi guys,

Welcome to my splinterlands blog. For people who read when I write about spl youll know that this is an entry into the splinterlands engagement challenge. A few days ago I made an entry into the splinterlands social media challenge. In that post I wrote about one of my battles like I usually do in my social media post. For most of my social media post its about my battles. I am biased towards that cause I think I can help newbies to understand the usage of some of the cards or how to navigate the rulesets when they are combined in twos and threes.

Well, the engagement challenge mostly takes a different shape and form. I say this cause most of the engagement challenge topics have a specific type of way they should be written which are mostly not about your battles. With that being said, I must also acknowledge that there have been few times where the topic has been around the battle play as well.

Let's get into it. This engagement challenge is about an inaugural card edition. As we all know it, every year or so splinterlands release new card sets. When new cards sets are released they bring a different feeling to the game. With these new cards releases we get to see new card abilities and also new rulesets to the game. This always helps to bring a new feel to the game and I must admit that its a good thing.

But this time round this type of card set is a different kind of card set. For the longest time we have heard about land and land production. Well, land is in full force and now a card set is being released purposely for land. This inaugural card set is specifically for land production and will be used only on land.

This card release is rather a smaller one as they claim this will pave the way for them to release a larger set in the future. But we must also acknowledge that this will bring a new feel to how the game works. This card edition will introduce some features like cards being able to be directly crafted from land resources. Cards requiring xinder, a new resource created by buying cards. Cards designed exclusively for land usage. A new treasure discovery mechanic: labors luck.

A snapshot has already been taken for total base pp staked on land and each players proportional share. With this used as the snapshot bases player received allocation rights which are soulbound which means they are account bound. They are valid for 3 days only and limits how many cards of each rarity can be crafted during the 3 day protected period.

After this 3 days period crafting will be open to everyone on a first come first served bases.

I mentioned cinder. Cinder is a new, non transferable resource crafted by burning unlocked cards with Dec burn value. The Cinder will be required for crafting all 4 land cards which is the number which will be released for the mean time. Southbound cardsband cards burnable only for glint/merits do no produce Cinder.

As i already said before these new cards sets are card sets which are specifically for land and cannot be used in ranked battles where modern, wild or foundation. They cannot be used in brawls. They can't be used in tournaments as well. They can't be used in survival mode as well. They can't be used to participate in conflicts as well.

They do not have combat stats and they function exclusively as land workers and need to have worker slot.

This is the little I have to say about the new card set for now. You can read more about it in the announcement post.
