Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. The season has ended successfully but I can’t say same for me . I ended the season with just 4 season chests and the rewards were nothing to write home about. Well, what to do? Try and manage my time so I can play more and get more chest. This season is already going on well and I hope I can use this season to bag as many chests as possible; if for nothing I know I’ll have to make past what I made last season.

This is an entry to the weekly splinterlands social media challenge. This time round I’ll be writing about a battle.

Let’s get into it.

The ruleset for this game was

This battle wasn’t a crazy one but then I loved it for two reasons only. The first one being it was the very first time I used this summoner(quix the devious) in battle since I bought it and the next being I used just one card; not because I wanted to but the mana was rather low.

So I went in with quix the devious summoner. A dragon summoner that granted me the ability to go in for the djinn chwala card.

Quix the devious is a summoner that grants causes your opponent card to loose -1 speed and -1 range attack. With this in mind I decided to go in for this cause of how low the battle mana was.

The mana for this battle was 12 and as such it meant even choosing a summoner was a really low summoner will still impact in my choice of monster to use.

So I was left in a dilemma after taking quix the devious which has a mana of 4. With mana of 4 I was left with just 8 mana. So I wanted to go for something which was powerful as well. So I went in for the djinn chawala; a card which is a melee card with 8 mana.

The djinn chwala is a melee card with 2 attack, 2 speed, 9 health and 5 shield. The addition to this was that it has the thorns ability and it was gonna be a killer addition.

Let’s rumble.

After reducing the speed of all my opponents card I was the only one with the highest speed so the obvious choice was that my djinn will attack first. The first attack was on my opponents blinding reflector and I couldn’t do much. I could only get a hold of its shield but I was almost taking the shield off so it was ok.

My opponents cards followed through with their attacks but as I had a fair amount of shield it was hard to kill me easily. The only downside to going with what I did is that you find have your opponent cards focusing all their attacks on that single card which is not healthy or advisable.

With the thorns ability in play for my djinn it was very helpful since he had three melee cards and they all sort to attack and kill djinn.

Round 1 was a pretty straightforward since none of our monsters died. The resilience of djinn surprised me as well. As sure my opponent was stunned as well lol.

The next rounds were pretty good since I was able to clear the shield of his melee cards. It meant that the impact was now going to be on the health of the monsters which was a pretty good sign of a win.

I attacked and cleared his blinding reflectors shield and then the next attacks were by my opponent. He attacked and as usual djinn did the rest by reducing their health.

Fast forward into round 3 and his blinding reflector caused its own death by attacking djinn heads on. Attacking djinn heads on only meant it was gonna have little impact on its health but the thorns ability was gonna take away its health as well.

By the end of round 3 my opponent was left with 3 cards now. Fast forward to round 5 and I was killing it. He was left with a range card in the first position; which doesn’t attack in the first position. He had a second card which was in the last position but was a no attack card which meant I was going to attack till the battle ends.

I attacked and killed his range card a few hits and did same with his no attack card.

I like this battle because I didn’t think I was going to win. For me quix the devious played a very important role in the battle by reducing the speed of the opponent monsters. This ensured I made the first attack in each round and this was turning point for me.

If not that having one card in battle could have been deadly for me.

Yhp, that thorn + high melee attack was a killer combination for this low mana battle. I think the mistake your opponent made was to try to fill in as many cards as possible into the mana cap, instead of focusing on powerful cards. I’ve never used the summoner and card you used here. Should properly take them for a spin in practice if I can🙂
