Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. This is an entry to the Splinterlands weekly social media challenge. We are in a new season and as such I’ve been dropped from the silver league back to bronze, I made it into the silver III league once and could never get back there until the season ended. For now, am in the Bronze League III league. Am planning to stay in bronze for this whole season to see if I can compete for the bronze leaderboard. Am playing way fewer games this time round so am still contemplating.

So yeah, let’s get into it.

Battle Ruleset

Ruleset ImageDescription
image.pngOdd ones out: Only monsters with the odd mana costs may be used in battles.

With this Ruleset you’re allowed to pick cards with odd mana only. This doesn’t have an effect on the summoner though. When I get this type of Ruleset it takes me far away front the earth cards cause the earth cards I like using are all even mana cards.

Summoner: Franz Ruffmana. This is a life summoner with 6 mana costs. With this summoner, your cards are granted the +1 shield and you’re also allowed to pick an additional gladiator card for battle. The truth is I go for this summoner because of the one additional gladiator card effect. There are life summoners that cost way less than 6 which I can go for but then I still choose to go for this one because of this effect.

First position

Venari marksrat: this is a card I selected for one reason, it has the martyr ability. This means that when it dies, adjacent units get +1 to all its stats. It’s a range card and as such it doesn’t attack in the first position. I made sure to put the Drybone barbarian adjacent to it. This will eventually help me in my battle as the stats boost will help its melee to an 8 when the rage happens.

The Venari marksrat is a range card with 3 mana costs, 1 speed and 2 health. With its killer health, you’re sure it will get killed in the first round of battle.

Round 1

My opponent went for pretty good fire cards. His first attack of the round was made by tenyi striker, a melee card which has the sneak ability and as such targets the last monster in my team. It has 2 melee so its attack on my blinding reflector was little.

The next attack of this round was made by my runeslinger which happens to be a stunner card but that attack was virtually useless since he also came with the Venari marksrat which doesn’t attack in the first position.

His fire caller was the next in line, and with a range attack of 3, it made a significant impact on my Drybone barbarian. Then Captain Katie came in to conquer. With its first attack of the round, it vanquished my opponent's card. With the bloodlust ability I had +1 to all my Captain Katie stats; in all sincerity I love using Captain Katie because of the bloodlust ability.

In this round, I killed one of the opponent's cards and he didn’t kill any of mine.

Round 2

With the sneak ability in effect, my opponent Tenyi Striker attacked first and it was on my blinding reflector. As usual, the damage wasn’t felt as it could only clear its shield.

With its stunner ability, my runeslinger stunned my opponent Venari Marksrat once more almost vanquishing it.

With one attack Captain Katie did its magic once more by vanquishing my opponent's fire caller. This meant its stats were going get increase once more. With his fire caller dead it performed the martyr ability and gave +1 to adjacent cards which meant his cards had gotten new melee attacks of 3 and 5.

In this round, I vanquished one of my opponent's cards and he couldn’t kill any of mine.

Round 3

It was usual business for my opponents tenyi striker as its first attack of the round was on my blinding reflector card. With an increased melee just one attack almost it killed. Captain Katie continued with her magic by finally killing my opponents venari marksrat.

It was time for my opponents Grum Flameburg to come into the first position. I think Grum came pretty late, my opponent didn’t expect me to come with cards which would virtually ignore his venari.

With the piecing ability granted by my opponent's summoner, Grum quickly vanquished my venari with its first attack.

Well, it was good news for me as well cause Drybone came into first position and well it came with rage. Its melee went up to an 8 to my surprise, not that I didn’t know it would go to 8 but I didn’t think it would go up immediately.

Unfortunately with all that rage, its first attack on my opponents grum missed lol but then I was fortunate for it to miss its attack of the round since my stunner stunned it.

Round 4 -6

His tenyi striker finally saw off my blinding reflector.

Captain Katie couldn’t do its magic on my opponents grum as it couldn’t only have little effect on its shield. My stunner came in to stun it one more time but it couldn’t and as such it had its first attack on my Drybone taking a chunk of its health.

His tenyi striker landed its first attack on my captain Katie but could only do little damage since I had lost its shield.

image.png

Drybone didn’t miss its attack on Grum this time around as it was able to vanquish it with one attack.

With his tenyi striker coming into first position I stunned it before we moved to the next round.

Well in round 6 tenyi was virtually useless as it was stunned. Captain Katie was able to vanquish it with one attack.

My opponent came with a pretty good line up but the problem was when I didn’t play how he predicted. He would have wished that I killed his Venari marksrat in the first round but it didn’t happen and as such grum was useless for 3 rounds of the game.

Captain Katie put on a good show heh?
