Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. This is an entry to the weekly Splinterlands social media challenge. How is the season treating you guys so far? Well, it’s been pretty good for me this season even though am still in bronze. The season chest is racking up pretty well.

Enough of the chit-chat, let’s get into it.

For this battle, I’ll be using my account @rubilu for this blog.

Battle Ruleset

Ruleset ImageDescription
image.pngEarthquake: Non-flying monsters take 2 melee damage at the end of each round.

This means that each monster participating in the battle takes a 2 damage hit to its health or shield if that card doesn’t have a flying ability.

With this in mind, I thought oh yes let me bring in a flying card into my team but then it was unfortunate since I only have flying cards in my death, water and earth cards. The elements made available were only fire and death. I opted for the fire elements since am not very good at using death cards at the moment.

My line up

My opponents line up

Summoner:

Tarsa. How time flies. I used to hate the Garda summoner so much. Why? I didn’t know how to use it or the cards it had. Tarsa is a 4-mana card that grants your cards with the +1 melee and +1 health. I like using it when I have to use fire cards because I employ the use of melee cards that have the sneak and snipe ability.

First position

Venari Marksrat. This is a card I don’t like lol. Just kidding, I love this card because of one thing only, it has the martyr ability. This means when it dies, adjacent units get +1 to all its stats. It’s a range card with only 2 health so being in the first position doesn’t really help me cause it doesn’t attack. When I put it in first position I hope It dies quickly so it can grant my second card more stats.

Round 1

My opponent came with a lot of flying cards in his line up so yh I was scared. I had no single flying card in my lineup so I was kind of scared I would lose this battle.

I made the first attack of the round with my fire elemental card. It’s a range card with the blast ability so it did pretty good damage to 2 of my opponent's cards with its first attack of the game. My opponent cursed Windeku attacked next and it was on my Venari marksrat just as I hoped but it needed the help of my opponents arache thug to kill it.

After vanquishing it, my grum flame blade was next in line and the martyr ability came into play. It had all its stats increased. It had a melee of 5 but after it had a melee of 6 now, it had an increased health and also an increased shield.

My djinn apprentice attacked next and it was on my opponent’s first card. His summoner grants the return fire ability so it made the 2 magic reflect back to my card.

Grum flameblade attacked his cursed windeku next and with a melee of 6 it vanquished it. The grum blamdeblade has a bloodlust ability so it had its stats increased one more time.

His arache thug came into first position, and was immediately attacked by my xenith archer but it could only do little damage.

In this round, I killed one of my opponent's cards and he killed one of mine.

Round 2

In this new round, the earthquake rule came into play and as such all my cards suffered the -2 damage leaving some of my pretty good cards on the verge of death. Only one of my opponent's cards suffered a hit.

My fire elemental attacked next and it was on my opponent's first card almost killing it. Grum flameblade did the honours and killed it thereby increasing its stats.

My djinn apprentice attacked next and it was on my opponent's phantasm card. As usual, it was granted the magic reflect ability and with that, it almost killed my card.

My xenith archer made the next attack on his phantasm card which was the last attack of the round.

In this round, I killed one of my opponent's cards and he didn’t kill any of mine.

Round 3

In this round, all my cards suffered the earthquake Ruleset and well 3 of my cards were vanquished due to this. None of my opponent's cards was killed cause they were all flying cards.

image.png

His phantasm card attacked my grum flameblade with a 2 melee attack and could only clear its shield. Grum Flameblade returned the favour and vanquished it easily.

In this round, I killed one of my opponent's cards and 3 of my cards were killed due to the earthquake rule.

Round 4

The earthquake rule applied once more on my cards but fortunately this time none of my cards died.

With the first attack of the round grum flame blade vanquished my opponent's first position card and as you know with the bloodlust ability it had increased stats.

image.png

His ever-hungry skull came into first position and made its first attack on my grum flameblade but it could clear its shield.

In this round, I killed one of my opponent's cards and he killed none of mine.

Round 5

The earthquake Ruleset came into play in this new round and well my tenyii striker was killed leaving grum flameblade to face my opponent all alone.

image.png

Grum attacked my opponent’s ever-hungry skull and could only clear all of its shield. It attacked back but with just 2 melee it made minimal damage.

In this round one of my cards died but I couldn’t kill any of my opponent's cards.

Round 6 -7

The earthquake Ruleset came into play but this time it couldn’t kill any of my cards as the grum was so strong.

image.png

I attacked his ever-hungry skull and vanquished it. His riftwing card came into first position but it’s not an attacking card so I had hopes of seeing it off easily and I was right.

With Grum's first attack, I vanquished it.

image.png

This was a match of little hope because of the Ruleset but I ended up winning. I knew that I didn’t have flying cards in the fire department so I had to be careful and well it did pay off.
