Splinterlands is a web 3 play2earn card game which is built in the blockchain. With spl users choose cards with a certain strategy and then with how good your cards or strategy is you win a game and is rewarded with sps and also with chests. In those chests you find great rewards which help you advance in the game and also rewards which are tradable. Spl unlike other games is a strategy game, but at times how strong your cards are play a very big role in how the game will go.

Getting statrted with spl is not a difficult task. Just like most games on hive you pay a one time registration fee with an amount of 10 dollars, this money is used to buy a spell book to unlock your account. Unlocking your account provided you with a lot of benefits. Some of them are playing and earning results; now this goes to say that even without buying a spell book you can play the game but you wouldn’t be earning.

After buying a spell book you are also provided with starter cards and summoners which a player can use and enter battles.

After signing up it’s quite easy to play a game as the battle sign is boldly at the middle of the screen. There are two sides to this game. We have the modern league where a user can play under certain rules and then the wild plague where the rules are slightly different.

You start as a novice which is known as the practice stage so you play a couple of games without earning anything but as soon as you are done with those game( which are quite easy) you get into bronze III where you can start earning for winning battles.

Just like anything you put your mind to, spl requires patience. Yes, with all this play2earn stuff added to a game like spl I get it that you’ll want to start earning as soon as possible but it takes time. You need to build slowly and you’ll rip from it in a few months or years time.

In the past you didn’t need an sps requirement to earn on spl but now with the new format you need to have sps staked in game; with this staked sps you earn rewards as you win battles. Getting sps in game has been made easier for people who can’t buy. First of all you can have some delegated to you or you can rent a delegation from the market.

One thing which has helped or made my journey easier on spl is discord. Before joining or attempting spl you’ll have a lot of questions about the game. It’s normal and with this questions it’s easier for you if you join the discord channel where there are a lot of people ready to help you navigate the game easily.

Joining spl has been a journey of sacrifices for me. I say this cause there are things you need to sacrifice if you need or want to advance in this game. One of those examples is with the new rebellion set. The rebellion set defined a new era for spl and I had to be involved. As a low level investor I needed to make sacrifices so I could buy some packs before the presale ended.

I did get the packs and I must say it was worth it.

I begun spl a few months ago and all I can say is I’ve earned more than what I placed or invested or is investing into the game. Am not gonna lie, luck did play a big role in that as well. But then who says you can’t be lucky as well?
