The Myth of Sisyphus or Why you should invest on Splinterlands

Just like myself I wonder how many of the new players of Splinterlands may have recently faced a situation in which they feel all the effort put into the game may be pointless after all. Don't get me wrong! Splinterlands is a great game, but here is the scenario: they don't own many cards but some Pelacors, there are no DEC rewards in Bronze III anymore, and even at Bronze II or I the amount of DEC they get now is almost as much as they need to spend on rentals. And that means one thing:

Sisyphus 01.jpg

They feel like Sisyphus from the Greek/Roman mythology!

For the ones who may yet not be aware of it, Sisyphus, a very cunning individual, was condemned to eternally roll a boulder up to the peak of a hill simply to have it fall to the bottom all over and over again as it neared the top.

Sounds familiar?

Since the changes regarding the rewards from the lower leagues were implemented, the life of new players and low budget players
has become considerably more difficult. Add to it a moment of high prices on the rental market and you get the picture.

While the reason behind the changes in Splinterlands was the game's balance and health, the reason behind Sisyphus punishment was his trying and managing to cheat the gods - you see, all those alt and bot accounts, look what they've done!

Although some of the players may have been lucky enough to get some good cards from the loot chests or to be awarded with some giveaways from the community, one thing still remains: it is not enough for the game and you need to play and play again, hoping not to get a 1 Credit reward or so after all the daily quest effort with that damned Earth Splinter you don't like and avoid.

Yes! I'm looking at you, Biceratops!

Unfortunately, one may have the feeling it happens more often than not. And that's the reason behind the second part of this post's title:

You should invest on the game!

Not only your time and effort, I dare to say, but also some extra money aside from the necessary for buying the Spellbook.

"Why is that so?" you ask.

My personal answer is:

believe me, my friend, you don't wanna make of the game a Sisyphean task in your life - that's not fun!

Be it for chasing the cards you like on the market or trying to guarantee some of the Chaos Legion packs, chances are you'll probably have many more tools available to enjoy the gameplay as well as have the opportunity to earn some DEC and money from renting or selling your cards without the need of rolling the boulder up the hill, day after day, over and over again.

Yes. Moving up rankings until silver is quite easy with the spellbook, however the power constraint makes it so expensive.
