Splinterlands: 3 Ways to Raise my Game!

Splinterlands 3 Game raise cover.png

Over the years my relationship with Splinterlands has been a bit complicated to say the least. There have been times I have fallen heads over heels in love with the game and there are times when I swear I will not look at it again. What I must appreciate about it though is the resilience this game has shown during the ups and downs of the market and is one of the very few NFT based games that has still survived and keeps rolling out new features without caring about what is happening in general to the crypto market.
This robustness of Splinterlands makes me really confident that this game is gonna thrive in the long term. This faith in its future keeps me engaged and I keep looking for ways to up my game on a regular basis.
In this post I will be sharing which are the 6 areas where I plan to take my game to the next level during this year.

1. Accumulating more SPS

1. SPS Staked.png

I always kept adding some SPS to my collection but it was more to get the staking rewards and I thought there might be some future rewards for DAO participation.
With the latest release which places a multiplier on the rewards you earn from each battle linked to the amount of SPS you have staked it is clear there is soon going to be a rush to collect more SPS.
In a way the current price slump was a good opportunity for me to raise the amount of SPS I hold to 11,000.
I know there are many people planning to hit the 100,000 mark but my current liquidity makes it nearly impossible but I do plan to raise my level to 25,000 by end of this year. It will also depend on what kind of price action happens to SPS during the coming months and how long it is available so cheaply.

2. Improve my Card Collection

2. Summoners.png

This one is pretty obvious as how much you can earn from the battles depends to the largest extent on what kid of cards you hold and how many strategies you have built around using them.
It is evident that holding legendary monsters and summoners gives you a clear edge but acquiring them comes at a cost as they are much more expensive than common or rare cards.
Another thing I have been working on regularly is to build a balanced team with good cards across different elements. When I started playing my focus was on Water and Death and in Bronze and Silver League I did not face much problems as they allowed most of the elements in all fights. The challenge started once I started playing in Gold league and once in a while in Diamond league. Here the battle conditions can be very restrictive at times with some fights allowing only one or two elements to be used. I had very weak collection in Fire and Earth elements so I slowly had to improve them. Now I have a balanced collection with good cards across elements and I am trying to have at least one rare summoner at level 6 so I can max my cards for the Gold league.
Taking into account my limited funds I am not maxing out my cards for Diamond League as that will require almost double the funds of what it takes to max a card for Gold league. Also I have seen that the level of competition in Diamond league is absolutely insane so I have decided to stick for now in Gold league where my win rate is much better. With the SPS staking requirement it again doesn’t make sense for me to go to Diamond league anymore.
I am also working hard on levelling up my Soulbound summoners as they allow a Gladiator to be used which is a great advantage specially in a high mana fight. So far I have managed to level them up well only in Water and Dragon elements but I hope to get them at level 5 across all elements by end of the year.

3. Getting more Runis

3. my Runi.png

I think currently the most under valued asset both in terms of price and utility is Runi. During the last few quarters the Splinterlands team has been focusing on the Land expanse, SPS utilities & staking, Soulbound cards structure.
Runi despite being launched more than 6 months ago are sort of on hold in terms of utilities. They can already be used as a Legendary card while playing Splinterlands but the developers had mentioned it was just one of the many use cases for Runi and the rest will be released later.
Considering that there are just 3,521 Runis available there is going to a serious supply crunch once all utilities are released. This supply is nowhere near the active users base of Splinterlands which is around 250,000. As the user base grows it will mean there will be just one Runi for 100 players. Currently the floor is at 0.27 Eth which is over the WL mint price of 0.19 Eth. If you follow the bloodbath that is happening in general across all popular NFT collections then you will notice that Runi NFTs are one the very few collections that are holding their floor steadily.
I feel once the NFT market recovers the floor for Runi is going to just explode. Of course this in not financial advise and just my personal analysis.
I collected one Runi when the floor had dipped a bit and my target is to get one more Runi if there is a further correction on the floor price.

I am holding a land as well but currently I am not planning to get more pies of land till there is more clarity on use cases.
