Season-End Strategy

I have mentioned in previous posts that the Season-End Sprint is all about using all available energy to push to Gold league in the last few days of the season. There are three reasons I do this: reward maximization, season-end rentals, and season-start resets.

Maximizing seasons rewards is not just about how many games you win, it is also about what league you finish the season in. Your season reward chests for the entire next season are determined by that league. I find that gold chests are much more likely than silver chests to contain valuable rewards, even if you do get fewer. That is why I want to end the season is Gold. However, I do now want to get into Gold too soon, because I am much more likely to keep winning games in Silver, gaining more points for the Gold season chests.

Season-end is also a good time to power level because everyone is trying to push to higher levels to get higher rewards. This is apparent by the spike in rental prices in the last few days of the season. If I play all of my games in the middle of the season, my Silver 1 opponents will be more likely to be skilled. At the end of the season, these players will likely try to boost themselves to Gold. The remaining Silver 1 players are lower skilled players who are renting cards to give themselves a last-minute boost. I take advantage of this slight skill edge to rank up faster than I would normally.

I want to spend all of my energy before season-end because I want to stall play as long as possible after season-start. If I got my toe just over the line into Gold 3, as I normally do, then I will start my season pitted against these higher-skilled players. If I wait for two days, allowing my energy to refill from 0 to 48, those Gold players will have leveled up and I will be much more likely to be playing against opponents at, or below, my skill level. (This is another reason that I do not mind posting most over the next few days, as I will have nothing at all to post during the following few days.)

Gameplay

I earned a total reward of 1.068 SPS. I had a decent overall ratings shift of 43 today. My longest streak was a great winning streak of 5 games. (Notice how my winning streaks and ratings changes are both longer than normal for the same number of games played?)
