Saludos amigos de #Hive y comunidad @Hivediy , les deseo un feliz fin de semana, en unión de sus seres queridos, me siento feliz de compartir un nuevo proyecto creativo, inspirado en los personajes de Splinterlands, elaborado con masa flexible, mi material favorito para moldear.
Espero hayan pasado una feliz Navidad en unión familiar y recibido el obsequio del niño Jesús, en mi carta le pedí varias pinturas para mis proyectos de moldeado y gracias a Dios me trajo mi regalo, algunos colores que se están acabando y otros que no tenía, fue una linda sorpresa al abrir la bolsa de regalo y ver las pinturas.
En esta ocasión les comparto la elaboración de un escudo inspirado en las cartas de Splinterlands, y el personaje Silvershield Paladin, este es de color gris y azul, en el centro tiene una cruz dorada con las puntas triangulares, también líneas verticales en el centro de la cruz, les muestro el proceso de elaboración.
Greetings friends of #Hive and the @Hivediy community! I wish you a happy weekend with your loved ones. I'm excited to share a new creative project inspired by the characters of Splinterlands, made with polymer clay, my favorite material for molding.
I hope I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and received a gift from Baby Jesus. In my letter, I asked for various paints for my molding projects, and thank God, He brought me my gift! Some colors I'm running out of, and others I didn't have at all. It was a lovely surprise to open the gift bag and see the paints.
This time I'm sharing the creation of a shield inspired by the Splinterlands cards and the character Silvershield Paladin. It's gray and blue, with a gold cross in the center with triangular points and vertical lines in the center of the cross. I'll show you the process.

El primer paso para hacer el escudo, es dividir la masa en pequeñas porciones agregamos, pintura y mezclamos hasta obtener el color deseado, para este proyecto usaremos los colores; dorado, plateado, amarillo y gris, los colores metalizados crean un lindo efecto brillante que me gusta, al color amarillo añado varias gotas de dorado y se ve muy bien y brillante, el mismo proceso lo hago con el color gris, añado color plata y el resultado es un lindo color con puntos brillantes que le dan un acabado realista, luego de mezclar aplanamos las porciones de masa en forma de bola, e iniciamos a trabajar; formamos un rectángulo y desde allí haremos la base del escudo, con ayuda de las estecas y cortadores vamos dando forma triangular en la parte de abajo, con la superficie plana y las manos alisamos los bordes y la punta del escudo, revisamos que el grosor sea uniforme y avanzamos al siguiente paso.
The first step in making the shield is to divide the dough into small portions. We add paint and mix until we obtain the desired color. For this project, we will use the colors gold, silver, yellow, and gray. The metallic colors create a nice shiny effect that I like. To the yellow, I add several drops of gold, and it looks very good and bright. I do the same process with the gray, adding silver, and the result is a nice color with shiny flecks that give it a realistic finish. After mixing, we flatten the portions of dough into balls and begin working. We form a rectangle, and from there we will make the base of the shield. With the help of modeling tools and cutters, we shape the bottom into a triangle. With the flat surface and our hands, we smooth the edges and the point of the shield. We check that the thickness is uniform and move on to the next step.
Con la masa dorada aplanamos dos tiras y y hacemos la cruz, colocamos una tira horizontal, la otra vertical y las unimos en el centro con pegamento haciendo presión, para que peguen bien, antes de hacer la cruz medimos el área disponible en el escudo y de acuerdo a las medidas sacamos las tiras, estas miden cuatro centímetros de largo, un tamaño adecuado para el espacio del escudo, ya que debe ir en el centro y dejar un margen a cada lado.
With the golden dough, we flatten two strips and make the cross. We place one strip horizontally, the other vertically, and join them in the center with glue, pressing firmly so they stick well. Before making the cross, we measure the available area on the shield and, according to the measurements, we cut the strips. These are four centimeters long, a suitable size for the space of the shield, since it must be in the center and leave a margin on each side.
Luego moldeamos cuatro triángulos pequeños, que irán en los extremos de la cruz, estiramos la masa lo más delgado que podamos y con ayuda de las estecas vamos cortando los triángulos, usamos el primero como molde, para que tengan el mismo tamaño, con mucho cuidado y suficiente pegamento las unimos a la cruz, nuevamente presionamos en cada uno de los triángulos para que el pegamento compacte, luego con ayuda de una esteca pasamos una línea por el centro de la cruz, hacemos presión hacia abajo para que la línea quede semi abierta y visible al secarse la pieza, dejamos secar varios minutos.
Next, we shape four small triangles, which will go at the ends of the cross. We roll out the dough as thin as possible and, using modeling tools, cut out the triangles. We use the first one as a template to ensure they are all the same size. Carefully, and with enough glue, we attach them to the cross. Again, we press down on each triangle to compact the glue. Then, using a modeling tool, we draw a line down the center of the cross. We press down so that the line remains semi-open and visible when the piece dries. We let it dry for several minutes.
Para finalizar, colocamos pegamento, en cada extremo de la cruz , en el centro y lo unimos al escudo, tratando que quede lo más centrado posible, hacemos un poco de presión en las puntas, cuidando de no borrar con los dedos, la línea que trazamos en el paso anterior, así el pegamento se une a ambas piezas y queda más fuerte, dejamos secar por varios días para un mejor resultado y ya está terminado un escudo de masa flexible inspirado en los personajes de Splinterlands.
Finally, we apply glue to each end of the cross, in the center, and attach it to the shield, trying to keep it as centered as possible. We apply a little pressure to the tips, being careful not to erase the line we drew in the previous step with our fingers. This way, the glue bonds to both pieces and becomes stronger. We let it dry for several days for a better result, and there you have it: a flexible clay shield inspired by the characters of Splinterlands.
