After Surviving 250 Battles

Hello, there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Since the start of the last season, the Survival Mode, specifically the Bracket IV, which is a "Human-only" bracket, has been used as a testing ground for liquidity bots to gather data in preparation for bringing Brackets to Modern Format. And what I mean by bots being tested is that manual players will play against them to test their competitiveness. In exchange, participating players will be incentivized by getting additional Glint Rewards if they are able to cover the required number of matches and win rate. Of course, as someone who enjoys playing Survival, I also participated in the testing, though I wasn't sure that I would be able to reach those requirements due to the small deck collection on my account.
And as the season ends, I was able to play a total of 250 battles in Survival. So, here is my report and feedback about the testing.

Survival Match Report

For the previous season of Survival, I used my other account @agonyaccepted, it has a much weaker deck compared to my main account, but can still reached Champion Modern ranked with a good win rate, and also has a much stronger Chaos Legeion Soulbound Reward collection, compared to my main that gives me a better odds of winning. Because for some reason, while the liquidity bots were supposed to be tested for Modern ranked, they do not restrict the bracket to only allow the use of modern cards.
Anyway, for the previous season, I was able to reached Gold II rating, which is 2,200, with 178 out of 250 battles that gives me a 71.20% win rate. This has allowed me to be eligible for the bot testing incentive of 250k Glint, but aside from that, I also managed to be at the top 21 leaderboard placement that has given me an additional 40k Glint leaderboard reward, as well as an Ascension Token that I can use to join the Ascension Tournament, where I can earn more Glint.

I also get, 2 BCX of Darkguard Hellion as part of my leaderboard rewards. Add that to the 1 BCX that I got from blazekos when I defeat him in battle, then I now only need another 2 BCX to get this card at level 2.

Liquidity Bots Feedback

After playing Survival, there is a Google Feedback Form that the player has to answer after playing the 250 minimum battles. It is required for the team to be able to review the battles and to know the accounts that will received the Glint incentive. I answered the form but my answer to the form is too limited and lacks proper context. So, I decided to expand my answers on this post.
The difficulty of the SLBB bots ranges from Too Easy- Easy as it only uses Foundation Archons, and is capped at Silver level. At first, they where just using Foundation units, but as you get higher in rating, they will eventually mixed their lineup with modern cards. Was still a bad match because they were using Silver level cards, while I use Gold level cards. I don't remember ever losing to them.
That said, if the team will use Foundation cards, they should at least increase the level cap of these cards to make it more competitive, and I saw them do that in Modern ranked before.

The difficulty of the SLBB bots ranges from Easy- Challenging, because saometimes, it will throw an incredibly dumb lineup, not taking the rulesets and mana cost into consideration, while sometimes, it will try to mirror your previous team or create a team that can counter my lineup. But sometimes, it will also throw an insane team that is very difficult to defeat if not impossible with my deck because Wild cards that I do not have. Some even barely use any modern cards.
And that's where the question comes of why even allow Wild cards in the testing. But thankfully the team must have realized this, so this season, they tweaked Survival, so that only modern cards can be used.

I saw many instances that a bot mirrors the card that I used, but also include other cards that it think would give it a more optimized lineup. Like on the first battle, I play a lineup that used Katrelba Gobson and Thane Newsong with Terraceous Hulk as my Taunt unit. And a few battles after, the opponent also plays Katrelba Gobson and Thane Newsong, but instead of Terraceous Hulk, it uses Mycelic Slipspawn.
And again, if you look at the team that the Archmage bot uses, most of them were not modern cards.

Not really, If you look at the series of battle above, you can see that the bot has used a somewhat decent team, composed of modern card, but instead of going harder on me, the bot decided to go back at using Foundation Archons. Yeah I lost a battle, but after I recover my rating back, the bot still throw a team with Foundation Archon on it.

Closing
And that was my output, after playing Survival mode for 250 battles. A few days has already past since the new season has started and I barely start playing Survival again. They have a much larger scope this time because they included Brackets 1-5. I just hope that the liquidity bots will hold the same amount of time to find a match.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
