Introduction

Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

I'm here for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured rule set Equal Opportunity. It is a rule set where all monsters gain the opportunity.png Opportunity ability which allow monsters to attack the enemy with the lowest health.

The Battle that I will show to you this week was from my @avainattempt account which has a max level diamond deck delegation from NFTY arcade and is currently playing on the Diamond league but before I show you the battle, let us learn more about this rule set.

Equal Opportunity

Abilities to Consider:

Description

Equalizer
  • All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.
  • Speed and HP is the trick here: higher speed will let you target enemy's low HP monster first, opening the way for your slower monsters to deal damage to higher HP enemy monsters.

swiftness.png Swiftness
  • Protect and Divine Shield if monsters have extra armor and divine shield, their health won't be reduced so easily while when attacked by melee monsters or use melee monsters to attack the opponent.

  • Reducing the health, armor, speed and attack of the opponent will also help to defeat the opponent faster so abilities like Rust, Weaken, Demoralize, Headwinds, Silence and Slow.

  • Each time your attacks you, if you have Thorns, Return Fire, Magic Reflect and Backfire will help you to deal more damage to your opponent as they attack. On the other hand, Taunt will cause monsters to only attack this card and will protect your other monsters from the opponent.

  • Its Ideal to have Shield or Void to reduce the damage taken from the opponent and when the opponent has more than 5 damage, having Forcefield will be really significant. Being the first to attack also gives you a better start so having Swiftness will be a good ability to have.

For this battle, we have the featured rule set Equal Opportunity which gives the Opportunity ability to all monsters along with Healed Out and Broken Arrows which means there will be no heals and ranged monsters cannot be used. Given this conditions, I choose the following cards for my line- up:

  • Summoner: Grandmaster Rathe that gives my monsters +1 armor and the Void Armor ability which prevents magic attacks from directly damaging my monsters health.

  • 1st Position: I used Chaos Knight because the combined health and armor of this card makes it a decent tank and it has the Shield ability which reduces damage from melee and range monsters while it has the Inspire which increases the melee damage of all monsters and Giant Killer to deal twice the damage on monsters with 10 or more mana.

  • 2nd Position: I placed the Jared Scar as it has the True Strike ability which means its attacks would never miss and it has Piercing which deals the extra damage from the armor direct on the health of the opponent. It also grows stronger as it defeats monster because of the Bloodlust ability.

  • 3rd Position: I placed Djinn Renova though it cannot use Triage, It has still the Strengthen ability that increases the health of all monsters by +1 and it can also deal huge magic damage.

  • 4th Position: I placed Time Mage which got Rust to reduce the health of all opponent monsters and Slow to reduce their Speed.

  • 5th Position: I placed Adelade Brightwing which got the repair ability to restore the armor of an ally monster while it also has Swiftness that increases the speed of all my monsters as well as Resurrect that will revive a monster once.

  • 6th Position: I placed Iziar since it got the Taunt ability so monsters will only attack this card and void which reduces damage from magic attacks.

Pre- battle Phase: Applying ability buffs and de- buffs

Round 1:

image.png

  • Since aside from having Swiftness and Slow at the same time, my team was faster compared to my opponent and this allows me to attack first with Time Mage attacking Adelade Brightwing, followed by Iziar and lastly, with Djinn Renova that defeats Adelade Brighrwing.

  • My Chaos Knight attacks Uriel the Purifier for twice the damage since it has more than 10 mana and Giant Killer ability takes into effect.

  • Jared Scar and Adelade Brightwing attacks Chaos Knight which got its health to 4.

  • The Djinn Renova of the opponent has removed the armor of Iziar while the combined attacks of Chaos Knight and Jared Scar of the opponent has defeated it but was Ressurect by Adelade Brightwing

  • Legionnaire Alvar attacks Iziar and reduce its armor.

Round 2:

image.png

  • Time Mage and Iziar defeats Chaos Knight of the opponent.

  • Djnn Renova, Jared Scar and Adelade Brightwing attacks Legionnaire Alvar which got it's health reduced at 2. Adelade Brightwing also restores the armor of Iziar.

  • Chaos Knight attacks Uriel the Purifier but missed then it attacks back and removes all the armor of Chaos Knight.

  • Djinn Renova reduce the armor of Iziar and Jared Scar defeats it.

  • Legionnaire Alvar attacks Time Mage but missed.

Round 3:

  • Time Mage defeated Legionnaire Alvar.

  • My Djinn Renova and Jared Scar attacks the opponents Djinn Renova and got it defeated, allowing Jared Scar to increase its stats with Bloodlust.

  • Opponent Jared Scar defeats Time Mage.

  • Adelade Brightwing restore the armor of Chaos Knight and attacks Jared Scar for 2 damage.

Round 4:

image.png

  • Jared Scar defeats Adelade Brightwing.

  • Opponent Jared Scar was attacked by Djinn Renova and was dealt the finishing blow by my Jared Scar.

  • Uriel The Purifier attacks Chaos Knight, Removing its armor and Chaos Knight attacks back that removes the restored armor of Uriel the Purifier.

Round 5:

image.png

As there was only Uriel the Purifier left, it gets defeated right away when Jared Scar and Djinn Renova attacks but as it has the Redemption ability, it at least took 1 armor form Djinn Renova and Jared Scar.

Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.

Did your Strategy Work?

As Equalizer rule set makes the health of all monsters the same, the mana ocst of the monsters does not really matter whether you fill it all or not but what's important was that you have placed as many monsters as much as you can with as much damage and speed as you can cause this will help you to be able to do more damage and be the faster one to be able to attack.
