Behold! Captain Frankie Sail The Seas Of Praetoria

Ahoy, pirates! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

In less than 2 days, the first legendary Archon, Loving the Moo, will finally join the battlefield of Praetoria. At the same time, that also means that we are also close to the second Conclave Arcana Conflicts Archon, and boy oh boy, we got another furry for the next Archon. Behold, for Captain Frankie will soon sail the seas of Praetoria. This airdrop card was designed with the input from jeffopenscards, one of the top 6 players who purchased the most packs during the Conclave Arcana presale, and apparently, it was based on his real-life pet, Frankie, which has its card avatar now immortalized in the chain.
In this post, I want to take a look at this Archon, look for its possible synergies, as well as its Conflicts requirements that could help players prepare their Wagons and Wagon Kits, but not before talking about the recent changes on Loving The Moo.

Loving the Moo Changes
| Before | After |

The changes made for Loving the Moo include changing its card art and its Bloodline from Canisan to Minotaur, most likely to make it more accurate for the card's name, but when it comes to its Bloodline Dominion, it remains to have a Bloodline over Canisan and Elemental. I guess that was because there are barely any Minotaur units in modern that could synergize with the card, and the inputs of the top players on the designs of the legendary Archons can greatly affect the final card and its bloodline.
The Fifth Airdrop Card

| Card Name | Captain Frankie |
|---|---|
| Card Type | Archon |
| Edition | Conclave Arcana |
| Mana Cost | 7 |
| Element | Life |
| Bloodline | Awakened Beast |
| Rarity | Legendary |
| Bloodline Dominion | Rodentian, Tideborn ![]() |
| Tactics Abilities | 2 units get Piercing and True Strike |
Just like the first legendary Archon, Captain Frankie also has a 7 mana cost, and I guess this will continue for the rest of the Archons, maybe not for the Dragon, if they do the same thing that they did with Rebellion. It was a Life element Archon with the Awakened Beast Bloodline, but for its Bloodline Dominion, it takes dominion over Rodentian and Tideborn, meaning they can be summoned by this Archon, regardless of their element, and gives them the Inspire ability that increases the melee damage of a card by +1. So in theory, you could increase the melee damage of all your melee cards by +6 if your entire lineup consists of these two bloodlines, and in theory, you can have up to six melee units in play. As of the moment, there are 15 Rodentian units and 8 Tideborn units available in modern.

And if we include the 4 units from Conclave Arcana, then we have a total of 27 units that can be played using this Archon across all elements. Aside from the Bloodline Dominion, it also gives two units the Piercing and True Strike ability, meaning that the extra damage of the cards will go through the health of the target, and they will have a 100% chance to hit their target.
Piercing | Damage in excess of the target's armor is applied to health. |
True Strike | 100% chance of hitting the target. |
Airdrop Requirements

To get a guaranteed copy of Captain Frankie, a player will need to have a minimum of 1250 entries, with each entry worth 100,000 Points. It's 50 entries higher than Loving the Moo, and makes acquiring it becoming more difficult. The chance to receive the airdrop card from each entry has also dropped to 0.08%.
For every 25 cards they get, a player will get a guaranteed Gold Foil version of the card, and by using 50 alchemy potions per card, it can be reduced so that the guaranteed comes for every 13 copies. Players can also use 50 Midnight potions per entry to increase the chance of getting a Black Foil version of the card to 0.20% from its base chance of 0.10%.
| Potion Type | Boost | Cost Per Card |
|---|---|---|
| Alchemy | Gold Foil chance 4% → 8% | 50 potions |
| Midnight | Black Foil chance 0.1% → 0.2% | 50 potions |
Jackpot Additions
At the end of the conflict, there will be 1 Black Foil Arcane and 5 Gold Foil Arcane versions of Captain Frankie that will be added in the Conclave Arcana Jackpot Prices and can only be acquired through any of the Conclave Arcana packs except for the starter pack. There is also the mint #1 Black Foil version of the card, but that will be given to jeffopenscards as a reward for being in the top 6 of the presale leaderboard.

Closing
And that was all for now for Captain Frankie. Can't really say for now how much this Archon will impact the modern meta, as it was still months away before it was released, but it was certainly intriguing how it could have up to 6 melee units with +6 melee damage.
Anyway, today is also another fortune raffle, and my alt has once again blessed me with another Black Foil card. This time, it was a rare unit that I will write about when I find the opportunity to use it.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!

Must say i love the new artwork of Loving the Moo!
Same. The previous artwork just doesn't fit whenever I look at the name of the Archon.
