Conclave Arcana Rewards Are Coming

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Rewards.png

It's been quite a while since the Conclave Arcana was released of the Conclave Arcana set, and it's been doing great so far with over 5 billion DEC or $5 million at peg value. And with every core set that comes into the game, they are also accompanied by a separate rewards set, which players can get through participating in the game, and can potentially trade them to other players, which makes obtaining the cards an exciting moment. However, during the previous reward sets, the excitement that comes with getting reward cards has gone low after the rewards became soulbound, as a measure to stop abuse in obtaining the rewards.

But now, the excitement has been lit once again, as we moved on to the Conclave Arcana Rewards with its new reward distribution that not only reduces the risk of exploiting the system, but also gives the opportunity for players to obtain cards that they can trade to others.

Conclave Rewards Distribution

The news about the Conclave Arcana Rewards was first published in Medium, and then it was later posted in Hive. Following the Rebellion rewards, the upcoming rewards set will also have a total of 43 cards that includes 12 common, 12 rare, 7 epic, and 12 legendary cards that players can get as they play the game. Each of the cards will have a soulbound version as well as version of the cards that can be immediately transferable and tradeable.

Regular FoilRegular.pngThis version of the rewards is soulbound when you get them through ranked battle chests and by purchasing card draws in the Glint shop, but can be unlocked to become tradeable.
Gold FoilGold.pngCan also be acquired through Chest and Card Draws, but can be immediately transferred or traded.
Black Foil/GFA/BFABlack.pngCan be obtained through weekly Fortune Draws, and can be immediately transferred or traded.

While each version of the cards can be tradeable and transferable, the post says that the reward cards can be burned for Glint. Nothing indicates that it will be burned for DEC, which I think is great if that is the case, since they will not add to the DEC inflation. At the same time, they also don't have any Production Power(PP), nor is it usable in Conflicts, which I think will also be for the best, especially with how much PP and contribution Black Foils provides, as there was already some salt and drama that revolves around the effects of Black Foils in conflicts.

Unbinding Soulbound Cards

To make the regular foils of the reward cards tradeable, they needed to be unlocked first. In previous soulbound rewards, the way to do it was to burn DEC between 10-20x of the burn value of the card, but with the Conclave Arcana rewards, they are introducing Unbinding Scrolls, which can be obtained through loot chests, craft them using land resource, or purchase them directly with DEC. Players can also buy them through the Non-card market or trade them with other players directly.

Something to be taken into consideration when purchasing Unbinding Scrolls is that they are only usable for Conclave Arcana rewards, and 30 days after the reward prints have stopped, they will be burned and become unusable.

RarityAura Cost
CommonAura2.png 100 Aura
RareAura2.png 400 Aura
EpicAura2.png 2,000 Aura
LegendaryAura2.png 10,000 Aura

To craft Unbinding Scrolls using land resources, players will need to have Aura, which is a soulbound resource, making it unable to be traded, and only those that has the Aura lab can produce it. They will then need to go to the Artisan Quarter to craft the scrolls. Currently, unbinding scrolls are not yet available in the Artisan Quarter, but they will be added soon when the new rewards are released.

Common5DEC.png 25 DEC
Rare20DEC.png 100 DEC
Epic100DEC.png 500 DEC
Legendary500DEC.png 2500 DEC

If you, however, do not own an Aura lab and cannot produce Aura, you can still purchase them with DEC at 5x of the card's collection power, making it easy to unlock, even for non-land players. At the same time, when DEC is used to purchase the scroll, the team and the DAO will each get 33% of it, while the other 34% will be burned. This, I think mostly positive, since you give the DAO, additional source of revenue, while also burning some DEC, reducing its inflation.

Updated Card Draws and Loot Chest Costs

Once the new reward set is released, Gold Foil Draws will be removed, meaning no more guaranteed Gold Foil cards. The only way to get individual cards in the Glint shop is through Rarity draws and Loot Chest.

image.png

And to get the Gold Foil Version of the card, each draw will have 1% base chance to become Gold Foil, but it can be doubled by using Alchemy Potions. The cost of each rarity draw was also doubled, compared to the current price of the Rebellion rewards, which will make it a lot difficult to complete the set, but it was also now cheaper to unbind them, so there will probably be a demand for those who wanted to complete the set early, competing in the higher leagues. Anyway, the costs for each rarity draw are as follows.

RarityGlint CostsPotions Needed
Common 3001
Rare 1,5005
Epic 15,00010
legendary 70,10020

At the same time, Loot Chests will also have an increase in costs to reflect the increased value of the additional items that will be available inside the chest, which includes Unbinding Scroll and Fortune Draw Entries.

Gold Foil Limits

One of the risks involved in cards becoming tradeable is that account farms will find a way to farm them quickly, usually through botting many accounts, but with Wild requiring a pass to play and Modern being a human-only format, the possibility of bots farming cards is less likely to happen. That said, we cannot 100% say that modern is 100% bot-free. So the other measure that was made to prevent massive overprinting of cards was to set a print limit on Gold Foil cards. If the Gold Foil versions run out of supply, it will switch to regular foils. The print limits from each rarity are as follows.

RarityPrint LimitBCX Needed to MaxPottential No. of Max Level Cards
Common500038131
Rare20002290
Epic120010120
Legendary4004100

I'm not sure, but it feels like the print limit for the rare gold foils was too low compared to the rest, based on the number of potential max copies for each rarity. I think it will be safe for the print limit to be above 2500 copies.

Weekly Fortune Draws

The mechanics for Fortune Draws are mostly the same as in the Frontier Mode, where a player will need to win at least 5 ranked battles to earn a batch of entries, and can do this up to 3 times a day, but to participate in the modern Fortune Draws, players will need to pay 125 DEC each week. The amount of SPS staked you have, either owned or delegated, as well as your league, also plays an important role in the number of entries that you can earn.

SPS StakeEntry CapLeagueEntries / 5 Wins
5,000,00030Champion30
2,500,00025Diamond20
1,000,00020Gold12
500,00016Silver6

100,0008
50,0006
25,0004
10,0002
2,5001
< 2,5000

Each account can complete a maximum of 3 battles, both in modern and Wild, for a total of 6 battles, which will be great since it will encourage participation in both leagues. I also like the idea of factoring a player's SPS stake to get more entries, as it will give more utility and a reason to hold SPS.

Closing

And I think I have tackled everything that needs to be tackled about the upcoming Conclave Arcana rewards and given you a heads up for the upcoming change. Now, the things that I am eager to know about are the card stats and designs for this set, which I believe they will do the same reveal as what they did with the Conclave Arcana Core cards.

Thank you, and see you on the next post!
