Dominating the Opponent with Magic Attacks when Arrows can't be Used
Introduction
Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
I'm here for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Broken Arrows. This is a ruleset that makes units with range attack to be unable to be used in battles.
The Battle that I will show to you this week was from @crimepoet which is my alternate account playing with NFTY arcade deck delegation and was currently at the 23rd place for this season's leaderboard but before I reveal the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.
Broken Arrow
Broken Arrows | - Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles. - Main attack options left would be either melee or magic. |
- A high HP first monster with Void ability will deal with both melee and magic.
- Give your tank a back up with a tank heal support.
- Using Thorns or Magic Reflect is also very useful in this rule set.
- Defend against either Magic or Melee attacks by using the right summoner and then use monsters' abilities to deal with the other attack type.

Opponent's Line- up
My Team
For this battle, we have there is a 52 mana cap that we can use where the active rulesets were Lost Legendaries which bans the use of Legendary monsters and Broken Arrows which is the featured ruleset for this week's Battle Mage Post which bans the use of Range monsters. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:
Summoner: Immortalis - Reduces the health of all opponent monsters by -1 and ad gives the Void and Shatter ability on all ally monsters.
1st Position: Mycelic Infantry - Has Shield that ability that reduces damage from melee attacks while dealing double damage on monsters with 10 or more mana using Giant Killer. When it receives damage, its melee and speed will increase because of the Enrage ability.
2nd Position: Arkemis the Bear - As a secondary tank, this monster has the Protect ability which gives +2 armor on all allied monsters and reduce damage from monsters with 5 or more damage to only 1 with Forcefield. It also has Enrage and when attacking, it will reduce the damage of the target to half with Halving.
3rd Position: Regal Peryton - Was a fast magic unit that also comes with Flying that gives 25% evasion chance from melee attacks.
4th Position: Magi of Chaos - Can deal double damage on monsters with no attack due to its Oppress ability.
- 5th Position: Goblin Psychic - Can heal the frontline monster with Tank Heal while preventing the target from healing using Affliction, It also removes the buffs of the target with Dispel and reduce the magic damage of the opponent with Silence.
- 6th Position: Mycelic Slipspawn - Uses Taunt to forces all abled monsters to attack this card while also have Forcefield to turn 5 or more damage to 1 and have Slow to reduce the speed of all opponent monster.

Battle Recap
Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.
Did your Strategy Work?
As my opponent prepares a team with a combination of melee and magic monsters, using the summoner Immortalis becomes a great choice which gives Mycelic Infantry Void and together with Shield, it now has protection against both melee and magic damage, long enough for me to defeat his monsters one by one using magic attacks.
That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
