Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

This will be my entry for this weeks Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Evens Stevens. This is a ruleset limits the use of monsters only to those with Even mana.

The Battle that I will show to you this week was from my @crimepoet account which is an alt account I'm using Nfty Arcade with max level CL deck and was playing at the modern format of the Diamond League. Before I show you the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.

Evens Stevens
- Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.
- There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but having an idea of mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use.

In other words, this is much more similar to a standard ruleset but with only even monsters to choose from though in this battle, you can use 0- mana cost cards since they still count as even number but would not eat any mana.

This battle has a 35 mana limit to use for cards where the active ruleset were Rise of Commons, Target Practice and the featured ruleset for this week which was Evens Stevens. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:

Summoner: Quix the Devious - As a dragon summoner, this allows me to use any element that is available together with the dragon element along with its ability to reduce the speed and range damage of all opponent monsters..

  • 1st Position: Ferox Defender - Gives +2 armor on all ally monsters with Protect which it can restore with Repair while at the same time, removing the stack of armor of the opponent with Shatter.

  • 2nd Position: Molten Ash Golem With Close Range, it can attack on the first position and with the combination of Weaken and Demoralize, it reduces both the health and melee of the opponent team by -1.

  • 33d Position: Scavo Chemist - Removes any negative status effect of the monster in the first position with Clense while it reduces both the speed and range attack of all opponent monsters with Headwinds and Slow.

  • 4th Position: Scavo Firebolt - This card only has Knockout which can only works if there is a monster with Stun but regardless, its decent attack and speed along with its small mana cost was more than enough to add this card on my team.

  • 5th Position: Supply Runner - Increases both the speed and Health of all ally monsters with Strengthen and Swiftness.

  • 6th Position: Naga Assassin - Also provides all my monster with Swiftness for additional speed and it also has Backfire which will inflict damage if the attacker misses on attacking this card.

Did My Strategy Work?

As the ruleset Evens Stevens was much like a standard ruleset, there was not a set of specific strategies that you can apply on this ruleset so what would dictate the outcome of the battle ends up to the player that can predict the cards of the opponent which in this case, I happen to have the better read of my opponent and won the battle.

That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
