Core Legendary Death Cards In Action
Battle 1: Corpse Fiend
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 13 Mana Cap Available Elements: Death, Earth Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f964f8437a1f829e4a37818022c246e8&ref=agonyaccepted |
Counterspell | All monsters have the Magic Reflect ability. |
Broken Arrows | Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles. |
Are You Not Entertained Yet? | One additional Gladiator card may be used in battles. |
This battle only has 13 mana where we cannot use range monster due to Broken Arrows but all monsters get the Magic Reflect ability with Counterspell and use Gladius cards with Are Tou not Entertained yet.
The legendary card that I used in this battle was Corpse Fiend since we can only use melee and magic unit and even when there was the Counterspell which returns magic attacks to the attacker, there was still some chance that the opponent will use magic units using Immortalis to reduce the damage from Magic Reflect and in that case, Corpse Fiend will reduce their magic with Silence or when the opponent choose to use Sneak or Opportunity, this card will act as a bait to lure their attacks as the rest of my units deal damage to their monsters.
Battle 2: Astral Entity and Djinn Muriat
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 50 Mana Cap Available Elements: Death, Water, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_eecdb98dd6a2d2d420e1175ffa1580e4&ref=agonyaccepted |
Odd Ones Out | Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles. |
Tis But Scratches | All monsters have the Cripple ability. |
Reverse Speed | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. |
On this battle, we got a bigger mana cap on the condition that only odd-mana monsters can be used with Odd Ones Out and that Reverse Speed will make monsters with the slower speed will attack first and that attacks will reduce the max health of the target due to Tis but Scratches.
With the available elements, I choose the death element with my summoner as Astral Entity, a summoner that would not increase nor decrease the speed of my monsters but increases the chance of them to avoid melee and range attacks by giving Dodge ability on all allied monsters and would Resurrect 1 monster that was defeated in the battle with 1 health which in this case was Legionnaire Alvar that the opponent needs to reduce all of its armor once again before they can defeat it. Speaking of armor, it also permanently reduces the armor of all opponent monster that makes them more vulnerable from attacks.
Meanwhile, we can see here Djinn Muriat now at the first position since they defeated Legionnaire Alvar which is against Runemancer Kye which is an 11-mana card and because of this, it receives twice the magic damage because of the Giant Killer ability.
Battle 3: Astral Entity and Lira the Dark
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 46 Mana Cap Available Elements: Death Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_ab076c98a3f894c7f413da43579b87f2&ref=bltzr-wizard-726 |
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners. |
It's another large mana battle but this time, we can only choose Death Element and the only ruleset was Healed out which disables all healing abilities.
Once again, I choose Astral Entity for my summoner to get that Dodge ability to help my monsters evade melee and range attacks which really helps me on this battle cause if you can see, the opponent has a100% win rate from his lineup and the only way I could win this battle is from luck and spoiler, I managed to win this battle due to the many misses that the opponent make just like that attack from Arkemis the Bear which has a 5 speed difference against Harklaw.
On the other hand, you can see how Lira the Dark has put an end to Arkemis the Bear with that whooping 4 damage as it were the monster with the smallest health that becomes the target of Opportunity while also giving +1 speed increase on all my monsters using Swiftness.
Final Thoughts
For the core Death Legendary monsters of Chaos Legion, the cards that I most often used was Lira the Dark given its giving my monsters a boost and speed and will always target the opponent with the least health. It was also helpful against opponent with Flying cause Snare will nullifies them. At the same time, Astral Entity was one of those summoners that could reverse the outcome of battle with RNG so if you think that the opponent has better cards than you, might even consider choosing this summoner on the chance to change the outcome of the battle.
That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
