Core Dragon.png

Introduction

Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion core cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

With this post, I finally reach the last chapter for the core legendary cards for the Chaos Legion, discussing about the core Dragon legendary cards which consist of 2 summoners and 5 units and will make it a quite a long post. I want to thank everyone for keeping up with me for this long and now, lets begin dissecting the capabilities of this cards.

lost-magic.png
Lost Magic
Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battle.
earthquake.png
Earthquake
Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

This battle comes with 58 mana where we cannot use neither healing abilities due to Healed Out or magic monsters due to Lost Magic. At the same time, non-flying monsters received damage every turn due to the Earthquake ruleset.

Here, I used the summoner Quix the Devious since it will most likely be that the majority of the monsters the opponent will use were range and with this summoner, not only they became slower but their range attack also gets reduced

image.png

On the other hand, even though it has no Flying ability, I placed Carnage Titan at the second position since it has decent amount of armor together with Shield that allows it to survive Earthquake damage while dealing damage to the opponent tank with the combination of Reach and Double Strike just like what it did to Legionnaire Alvar.

image.png

Another legendary monster we have was Zyvax Vuul since it has the Flying ability so it will not get Earthquake damage but it was a difficult monster to handle because it can only attack every next turn due to Recharge so although it can hit 3x its damage to the target, like how it deals 6 damage on Legionnaire Alvar, there is a chance that it might not even survive the round before it can unleash its attack.

Battle 2: Lily Shieldpaw, Dessert Dragon and Carnage Titan

melee-mayhem.png
Melee Mayhem
00-melee.png Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
odd-ones-out.png
Odd Ones Out
Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

reverse-speed.png
Reverse Speed
Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

For this next battle, there is a 50- mana cap with the active rulesets, Melee Mayhem that allows melee monsters to attack at any position, Odd Ones Out that only allows the use of odd mana monsters and Reverse Speed where monsters with slower speed gets to attack first.

The summoner I used in this battle was Lily Shieldpaw since it allows me to use dragon monsters and at the same time does not give stats that would increase my speed. Instead, it gives me additional health together with Camouflage and Triage so what I did here was to place a Taunt monster at the back to capitalize on its ability.

image.png

For the monsters, we once again have Carnage Titan here but what I want you to look here was Dessert Dragon which after defeating the opponents Dessert Dragon, it quickly proceeds to attacking the opponents Carnage Titan and managed to deal 4 armor damage even when it has the Shield ability all because of the Giant Killer which doubles the damage on monsters with 10 or more mana.

Battle 3: Lily SHieldpaw, Void Dragon and Chaos Dragon

ConditionsDescription

48 Mana Cap
Available Elements:02-Water.png Water, 5-Life.png Life, 4-Death.png Death, 6-Dragon.png Dragon

taking-sides.png
Taking Sides
Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.
broken-arrows.png
Broken Arrows
Ranged attack Monsters may not be used in battles.
broken_armor.png
Unprotected
Monsters do not have any armor and do not get armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs.

For the last battle, there was a total of 48 mana cap were both teams cannot use Neutral and range monsters due to Taking Sides and Broken Arrows ruleset. But not only that, we also lose our armor due to Unprotected ruleset.

Once again, I choose Lily Shieldpaw for my summoner which in this battle was definitely a good choice because my opponent has 3 Sneak monsters prepared for me but they won't be able to attack my backline due to Camouflage aside from my Taunt monster which also to receive heal from Triage.

image.png

For the monsters I used, at the very back, I have Chaos Dragon which gets a power up due to Martyr who has come and randomly attack Dhampir Infiltrator because of Scattershot and also damaging Vruz because of the Blast Damage.

image.png

While on my side, the opponents Chaos Dragon attacks my Void Dragon but since it has the Void ability, it only takes have the attack and at some circumstances, be even able to evade the attack due to its Phase ability.

Final Thoughts

For the core Dragon Legendary monsters of Chaos Legion, I think, I often used most of them whenever there are High mana battles with maybe the exception of Xyvax Vuul since its recharge is hard to use though now the new Dragon summoner for Rebellion makes this card more effective by giving the Ambush ability. Then, although Lily Shieldpaw was a great summoner to use, it is more effective when partnered with Grimbardum Smith which I don't have in either my accounts or the Scholar account I'm playing so when I know that this combo will be used to me, I often use Conqueror Jacek and pray For the RNG Goddess.

That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
