Exploring the Chaos: Core Fire Legendaries

Introduction
Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
The topic of my review for some time now was about the core cards of the Chaos Legion which is the third major card expansion of the game with over 100 cards and so far, I have come to finish with the core cards under the common, rare and epic rarity and have began with the legendary rarity, containing 29 cards including the airdrop cards. With my last post, I have tackled the epic cards as well as the legendary cards of the neutral element and for this post, I will follow it through with the legendary cards of the Fire Element.

Ifrit Rising is an 8- mana legendary magic card which have the Recharge ability that makes 3x the original damage but would require the card to only attack every other turn.
At level 4, it gains the Forcefield ability which makes it to only take 1 damage from attacks with 5 or more damage.

Grum Flameblade is an 11- mana legendary melee monster with the Bloodlust and Void Armor ability at level 1 which increases all the stats of the monster upon defeating an opponent and makes magic unit to hit armor before health.
With level 2, it gains the Void ability that reduces damage from magic attacks.
As it reaches level 3, it gets the Giant Killer ability that doubles its damage when attacking monsters with 10 or more mana.

- Conqueror Jacek is a 6- mana legendary summoner that gives +2 Speed on all ally monsters as well as the Scattershot ability that randomizes the attack of range and magic attacks and Piercing which allows attacks to penetrate the targets armor.

Legendary Fire Cards In Action
Battle 1: Ifrit Rising and Conqueror Jacek
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 55 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Life, Earth Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f5465223da7d65737fadf7c50be0ad82&ref=avainattempt |
![]() Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
This battle only has the Keep Your Distance ruleset which bans the use of melee units on battles.
For summoner, I used Conqueror Jacek to get the benefit of +2 Speed to be able to attack as fast as I can and with Piercing, it maximizes the amount of damage that I can inflict at the opponent with the attacks piercing their armor though at the same time, it randomizes the attack of monsters due to Scattershot which brings the RNG factor and can sometimes cause unexpected defeat if it hits the wrong target.
I have used Ifrit Rising which Can only attack every other turn due to Recharge which makes it difficult to use but when it do, it deals 3x the damage which becomes a really powerful blow that can defeat the opponent in one hit just as it defeats Iidri Fyre and before this, it survived 2 attacks worth of 10 damage in total and only received 2 damage because of the protection the Forcefield provides.

Battle 2: Scorch Fiend
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 19 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Earth, DragonLink: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_25e963e2e5af64713886854a75ffcda2&ref=agonyaccepted |
![]() Holly Protection | All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability. |
![]() Lost Magic | Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles. |
![]() Evens Stevens | Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles. |
On this battle, we cannot use magic monsters and anything with odd mmana cost due to the rulesets Lost Magic and Evens Stevens though monsters got damage protection due to Holly Protection.
With such a low mana battle, there were very few monsters we can add to the team so priority comes on cards with low man cost and with Scorch Fiend, even though we have no mana left, we can still place this card as this cost 0- mana and at the same time, it has the Demoralize ability which reduces the damage of all the melee monsters of the opponent causing Djinn Chwala to only have 3 damage.

Battle 3: Grum Flameblade and Conqueror Jacek
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 39 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Water, Death, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_9510891fddade8f0c616b43f609915f7&ref=agonyaccepted |
![]() Noxious Fumes | All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. |
![]() Aim True | Melee and Range attacks always hit their target. |
![]() Melee Mayhem | Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position. |
For the last battle, we have Noxious Fumes that makes all monsters to be poisoned in the beginning of the round but at the same time we got Melee Mayhem which makes all melee monster to be able to attack regardless of their position and Aim true which means regardless of speed, all attacks will hit the target.
Once again, I used Conqueror Jacek to capitalize on its speed and Peircing ability and since I mostly used melee monsters, Scattershot would not affect me much so I used Grum Flameblade that despite being slow, has huge damage output when the opponent has so happened to use Agor Longtail that has the Taunt ability and has more than 10 mana so when Grum Flameblade attacks, it was able to inflict 10 damage to it.

Final Thoughts
For fire set of legendary monsters, I would say that one must have sufficient enough knowledge of the game as they are more likely to use on niche situations rather than something that you will use for most of your battles such as Ifrit Rising that was hard to use because of its Recharge ability and Grum Flameblade due to it's slow speed but it can at least be compensated with the stat boost by Conqueror Jacek and it was the first non-Gladius Card that gets the Bloodlust ability so when it was able to do its job, it would be a very powerful monster to have. That said, never underestimate the utility of Scorch Fiend as this can serve as a damage sponge to absorb opponent attacks with no cost to mana.
That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
