Exploring the Chaos: Core Water Epics

Water Epics.png

Introduction

Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

The topic of my review for some time now was about the core cards of the Chaos Legion which is the third major card expansion of the game with over 100 cards and so far, I have come to finish with the core cards under the common and rare rarity and have begin with the epic rarity containing 17 cards. The first element that I cover was the Fire Element and for this week, I will be covering for the Water Element.

Also in this post are the details on how to get a free weekly SPS delegation. You can read the details below.

aim-true.png
Aim True
Attacks always hit their target.

This battle has the Keep Your Distance ruleset which that bans the use of melee monsters together with Back to Basics where abilities cannot be used and Aim True that ensures no attack misses their target. On this type of battles, magic becomes very convenient since it can attack regardless of the position and can disregard the armor of the target to directly attack its health while the target loses any abilities that would prevent the damage it takes. That was were Nerissa Tridawn shines as it already does not posses any abilities to begin with but still, it can inflict up to 5 damage to the unprotected target.

All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.

On this battle, we have the Counterspell ruleset so using magic monsters is disadvantageous while the Target Practice will give the Snipe ability to monsters with additional armor by the Armored Up ruleset which comes to say that range monsters will be used on this match so I used Wave Brood. It has the Close Range ability which allows it to attack even at the first position and Return Fire that will give reflect damage on range monsters that attacks it. In case that the opponent still uses magic, it has the Void which will halve the damage it takes. Finally, it has the Taunt ability which will forces monsters to attack this card.

Final Thoughts

This has concluded my review for the core Water epic monsters of the Chaos Legion. Among this cards, I would say that I have often use Wave Brood for most of my battles because of its Taunt ability that helps in protecting my other monsters from attacks specially against those with Sneak and Opportunity ability and at the same time, it was both effective countermeasure against magic and range attacks with its Void and Return Fire. On the other hand, I often use Igor Darkspear on Little League battles where its attack will prove to be lethal and its capability to prevent its target from attacking with Stun. Nerissa Tridawn was indeed a powerful monster but as of late I less likely to use this card with the arrival of the Immortalis but that still depends from battle to battle.

That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
