Earth Soulbound Rewards.png

Introduction

Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday.

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including thier subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

Last time, I have talked about the old card rewards that we usually get on our daily and season chest and how they were used as well as their importance to the meta. Now, I will be reviewing the new Soulbound rewards card which replaces them, offering new possibilities to the game and for this post, I will be taking a look at the Earth Soulbound Rewards.

All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
close-range.png
Close Range
Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles.
reverse-speed.png
Reverse Speed
Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

For this 14 mana battle, Target Practice which gives monsters the Snipe ability and Close Range so that range monsters can attack even at 1st position with the attack priority on the slowest monster due to the Reverse Speed rule set. As you can see on this battle, when Fungus Flinger dies, it increases the damage forFungus Fiend and Djinn Biljka which was the adjacent cards to Djinn Biljka and with that, I was able to defeat my opponent.

Battle 2: Terraceous Grunt

ConditionsDescription
02- Silver 1 Modern.png
Silver League
Modern Format
39 Mana Cap
Available Elements: 01- fire.png Fire, 3-Earth.png Earth, 5-Life.png Life, 6-Dragon.png Dragon

target-practice.png
Target Practice
All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.
Stampede.png
Stampede
The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

For the 2nd battle, we have a 39 mana cap match with Target practice which gives all range and magic monsters the Snipe and Stampede that can trigger multiple Trample. The use of Terracheous Grunt provides my team with a tank that has huge health and with can evade some of the enemy attacks with the Dodge ability just like how Djinn Chwala missed an attack.

Battle 3: Ava the Undaunted

ConditionsDescription
03- Gold 1 Wild.png
Gold League
Wild Format
37 Mana Cap
Available Elements: 01- fire.png Fire, 3-Earth.png Earth, 4-Death.png Death, 5-Life.png Life, 6-Dragon.png Dragon

reverse-speed.png
Reverse Speed
Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.
evens stevens.png
Evens Stevens
Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

For this battle, we have Noxious Fumes which poisoned all the monster while Evens Stevens only allows the use of monster with even mana cost. With Reverse Speed making priority of attack to those monsters with lower speed, I have chosen a magic team though I also use Ava the Undaunted just to fill my empty spot and while on it, gives Failed Summoner range attack. It can't attack though since it was on the 1st position so its now called Failed Archer instead. 😜

Battle 4: Terracheous Hulk

ConditionsDescription
03- Gold 1 Wild.png

Wild Format
99 Mana Cap
Available Elements: 02-Water.png Water, 3-Earth.png Earth, 4-Death.png Death, 6-Dragon.png Dragon

What Doesn't Kill You
All Monsters have the Enrage ability.
equalizer.png
Equalizer
The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

For the last battle that I will show, we have 99 mana match where there is the What Doesn't Kill You rule set that gives the Enrage ability on all monsters and Equalizer that make the default health of all monsters the same. I used Terrecheous Hulk on this match because aside from the health it also has Void Armor which even magic attacks needs to reduce so that they can damage this monster and with Taunt, most of the abled attacks will be focused on this monster. Since I use Immortallis on this match, it also gained Shatter and Void which make this an impregnable tank on a nerfed magic team.

Final Thoughts

The New Earth Soulbound Reward cards offers new sets of possibilities for the Earth element with the addition of new abilities they posses adding to the meta. The notable cards on this set for me was Fungus Flinger with with the Martyr ability which is very useful even at level 1 and it might be better to keep this monster at level 1 since this is a sacrificial card in order to increase the stats of adjacent monsters. Also having Terrecheous Hulk provides a new powerful tank for the earth team with the Taunt and Void Armor and shines most when partnered with Immortalis.

I think that for the earth splinter, the soulbound cards are maybe not that useful but I have to admit that I didn't use them much yet because they aren't developped enough to play in Diamond. I love Fungus Flinger with the Martyr ability :-). Nice post!

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post! Comment Footer.jpg

Wow! Very thanks!

I also played Fungus Flinger a lot in battles but my recent favorite was Terraceous Hulk together with Immortalis on a reverse speed match as a better choice to Mycelic Slipspawn cause it has slow on diamond league.

btw, thanks for coming by my post and good luck with the eos chest! 😁
