Introduction

Hi! @Saydie here.

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards, theirs stats, their utility and their market price.

Last time, I talked about the Amplify ability and the cards that uses this ability to boost the damage from Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns. Now, I'm going to discuss about another new ability that Chaos Legion has bring to us which is by far, the hardest ability to utilize and that is the Recharge ability.

IconAbility NameDescription
ability_recharge_small.pngRechargeMonster attacks every other round but does 3x damage.

Like I said, Recharge is an ability that I find very hard to use. It might give 3x damage but it can only attack every other turn and on that one turn that it does not attack, many things are already happening like the yours or opponent team has been defeated or the Recharge monster has been defeated before it can attack. There are also cases with melee and range monsters where even the monster attacks with 3x damage, it wasn't able to do substantial damage because the opponent has armor. So even if you have 15 damage, it will be useless as long as the opponent team has 1 armor.

Pros
Can deal 3x damage every time it attacks
Cons
Can only attack every other turn.

Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.

This is a battle where only summoners with 4 mana or below can be used. Temporal Master was placed on the 5th position next before Uraeus because they both have 2 health and if an Opportunity monster was on the opponent side, then that will attack the Uraeus first and has the better chance of surviving because it has an armor. this then allow Temporal Master to charge magic damage.

tem_master_02.png

Temporal Master unleashed his 3 magic damage and attacks Antoid Platoon with only 1 health remaining so it doesn't matter whether it is 1 or 3 magic because either way the opponent will fall.

tem_master_03.png

Round 4 is the last round that Temporal Master was able to attack, defeating Serpentine Spy with 3 health.

Battle 2: Insidious Warlock

Total Damage: 5

Equalizer
The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.

Every monster's health is the same as well as we both choose Thaddius Brood for the summoner. Insidious Warlock was in the 3rd position, it's original damage was de- buffed due to the summoner ability and only has 1 magic damage.

insi_lock_02.png

In round 2, Insidious Warlock deals 3 damage to Spirit Miner but since, it has large health, it was not able to defeat it but despite that, Insidious Warlock deal more damage than it can if it attack normally.

insi_lock_03.png

In round 4, Insidious Warlock deals 2 damage to Ancient Lich. Normally, you can't damage this monster with only 1 magic because it has the Void ability which nullifies damage that is less than 2. But other than that, it was not able to attack anymore to the succeeding rounds that last up to the 6th round.

Battle 3: Ifrit Rising

Ifrit_01.png

Total Rounds: 5
No. of successful attack: 2
Total Damage: 12

ConditionsDescription

silenced-summoners.png
Silenced Summoner
Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.

As Summoners cannot use their abilities, I choose the Fire Element. I placed Ifrit Rising in the 3rd position since it is a magic card and in case that the first two cards in my line up was defeated, it can still attack even at the first position or at least be a damage sponge since it has huge health.

Ifrit_02.png

On the 2nd round, Ifrit Rising unleashes it's magic attack and deal 6 damage to Mycelic Slipspawn but with only 1 health remaining, it is an attack that is wasted.

Ifrit_03.png

The 4th round is where it gets good as it one- hit Regal Peryton with another 6 damage and that is the last time that it attack as the battle ends in round 5.

Battle 4: Uriel the Purifier

Total Damage: 24

ConditionsDescription

earthquake.png

Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

It's undeniable that Uriel the Purifier is the best among all the Recharge monsters. Not only it has huge health it also has huge armor which can help it to last long enough before it drops bombshell of damage and at level 2 it even has the HealHeal to recover a portion of its lost health.

uriel_02.png

Because Uriel the Purifier is a melee monster, it can only attack by default on the first position and since I still have mana left, I placed Pelacor Conjurer at the first position to tank all the damage before it reach Uriel the Purifier to timed it so that it will be in the first position when it will attack then everything goes according to the plan and it landed 9 damage to Djinn Chwala who still have 5 health during that time.

uriel_03.png

At round 4, Uriel the Purifier has been Enrage, turning his attack to 5 so when it landed, a total of 15 damage was received by Dragon Jumper which is an overkill because it only has 1 health. The battle also ends at the same round.

Battle 5: Zyvax Vuul

zyvax_01.png

Total Rounds: 6
No. of successful attack: 3
Total Damage: 12

ConditionsDescription
Wild_gold.png
Gold League: Wild Format
56 Mana Cap
Available Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Death, Dragon
Stampede.png
Stampede
The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.
lost-magic.png
Lost Magic
Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.

On this battle, we both choose Quix the Devious as our summoner which gives -1 Speed and -1 Range attack which becomes a disadvantage to me since I use more range cards than my opponent but still, I was able to won this battle with Zyvax Vuul as the final attacker.

zyvax_02.png

zyvax_03.png

It first deal 3 damage to Carnage Titan, removing it's armor during the 2nd round then another 3 damage to it at round 4 causing the Carnage Titan to be defeated although it has Shield ability that halves the damage it received from melee and range monsters so originally, Zyvax Vuul was supposed to deal 6 damage.

zyvax_04.png

At round 6,Zyvax Vuul deals the final damage that took down Deeplurker because even at the first position, it can still attack because it has the Close Range ability.

And that's all the battle data for Recharge Monsters that I was able to collect during my battles. Aside from Uriel the Purifier, the rest of the matches that I have are more of a gamble just to show how does the ability work and I think I could do just fine or even better if I use some other cards.

If you want to watch a replay of each matches then you can just click on the title of the matches that you wanted to watch.

Final Thoughts

Aside from Uriel the Purifier, I don't think that I would rather not use the rest of the cards that have the Recharge ability, since it is very hard to use but I don't think that this is all of what this card has to offer or that the developers has made a mistake with this ability. As you can see, all the Recharge monsters are either Epic or Legendary so there is really something wrong when they are under appreciated. What I have in mind is that there will be another ability and support monster that it will be accompanied with so that it can attack every round in the future but it's attack will be halved. For example, Uriel the Purifier's attack is 3 then when divided by 2 and rounded of, it will be 2 multiplied by 3, then it can deal 6 damage per round. Riftwatchers is coming so maybe, the card I'm looking for is right there. If it ever happens that the ability is as it is, then maybe this post will be a means of suggestion to the Splinterlands team.
