Exploring the Chaos: Core Life Rares

Introduction
Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
For the past 4 weeks now, I've been making card reviews about the Core Rare cards of the Chaos Legion Set on how they are used in play and which of them are my favorite and has great utility when playing. So far, I was done with the Fire, Water, Death and Earth Element and for this week, I'll be making a review for the Life Element.
Also in this post are the details on how to get a free weekly SPS delegation. You can read the details below.

- General Sloan is the rare Life Chaos Legion summoner which does not have any abilities it can grant but gives +1 range attack on all range monsters.

Rare Life Cards In Action
Battle 1: General Sloan, Celestial Harpy and Time Mage
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|

![]() Aimless | All monsters have the Scattershot ability. |
![]() Fire & Regret | All monsters have the Return Fire ability. |
![]() Little League | Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles. |
The ruleset includes Aimless which makes range and magic attacks random together with Fire & Regret that gives Return Fire and as this battle also have the Little League rule set on it, I can only use monsters with 4 mana in battle. That is where the use of Time Mage and Celestial Harpy becomes handy since both does not cost more than 4 -mana. Here, what Time Mage do is to reduce the speed of the opponent with Slow and what remains of their armor with rust which makes my team to attack faster and to make it so that the attacks won't need to go wasted on the armor of the opponent while it also deals a huge amount of magic damage despite its very small mana cost like how it deals damage on the opponent's Venari Crystalsmith.

Then, we got Celestial Harpy to put an end on Venari Crystalsmith using Opportunity, as it was the opponent monster with the least health and with True Strike, it can never dream to evade the attack no matter what it do which make its defeat inevitable. Unfortunately, we does not have any range monster placed in this battle as it will only received damage when it attacks doe to the effects of the rule set.

Battle 2: Portal Spinner
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 52 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Earth, Life, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_c6e10793d126629ba819da2b4c0bf9f2&ref=bltzr-wizard-726 |
![]() Going the Distance | Only monsters with Range attack may be used in battle. |
![]() Fire & Regret | All monsters have the Return Fire ability. |
![]() Heavy Hitters | All monsters have the Knock Out ability. |
On this battle we have the Fire & Regret rule set once again and it was paired with Going the Distance which has force the use of only range monsters so every monster on the field could just received Return Fire damage. I used Portal Spinner it has some armor that can protect it from the reflected damage and at the same time could potentially remove the Flying ability of the opponent monsters though it has failed to do so in this battle due to its attack hitting random opponents due to the effect of Scattershot.

Battle 3: General Sloan and Pelacor Arbalest
| Conditions | Description |
|---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 25 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Death, Life, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f6ad553f1ffaa43d64e11e81655cbf33&ref=crimepoet |
![]() Reverse Speed | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. |
![]() Keep Your Distance | Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles. |
![]() Born Again | All monsters have the Rebirth ability. |
For the last match, General Sloan finally gets the opportunity to shine as the rule set was Reverse Speed that prioritizes slow monsters to attack first while there are no melee monsters which can only means that it either range or magic attacks will be used in battles and here, I have used some range monsters which includes Pelacor Arbalest that benefitted with the + 1 range increase by the summoner which allows it to deal more damage on Molten Ash Golem and since it has the Double Strike ability, this also means that it was able to deal twice the damage so the total damage it can deal per turn was 8.

Final Thoughts
Among the rare summoners of the Chaos Legion, the stats given by General Sloan makes it the weakest summoner among the set as range monsters have the fatal flaw of being unable to attack at the fist position originally and that its attack does not penetrate the armor of the target. Though at the same time, there were some really great cards that I always use in battles, Time Mage with its Slow and Rust and Celestial Harpy with its Opportunity and True Strike but this both are mostly effective on low mana battles and I often use the Dragon summoner instead of the Life when I'm using them since both does not really synchronize with the stat boost given by the Life summoner.
