Introduction

Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

I'm here for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Odd Ones Out. It is a ruleset were only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

The Battle that I will show to you this week was from my bltzr-wizard-726@crimepoet account which is my alternate account using Max level Chaos Legion card delegation from NFTY Arcade. Before I show you the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.

Also in this post are the details on how to get a free weekly SPS delegation. You can read the details below.

Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.
There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but having an idea of mana points of a few monsters helps in predicting what your opponent can and cannot use.

Cards of Consideration

When selecting a team, there would be times that due to monsters having odd mana cost the monsters we can place in the monster slots became limited and on times like this 1- mana cards could be serve to fill this empty slots.

For this battle, we have the featured rule set Odd Ones Out that limits the use of monsters to those with odd mana together with Rise of The Commons that limits the use of monsters to common and rare rarity while summoner abilities cannot be used due to Silent Summoner. Given this conditions, my lineup was consist of.

  • Summoner: I used Kelya Frendul so that I can use water team but due to the effects of the rule set, its status buffs will not be activated.

  • 1st Position: Cruel Sethropod was a decent low mana tank with 7 health and 6 armor although it does not have any abilities it can use.

  • 2nd Position: Merdaali Guardian was a non-damage card with Strengthen that would increase the health of all allied monsters. At the same time, it got the Tank Heal to restore the health of the frontline monster and Repair that can restore the armor of an allied monster.

  • 3rd Position: Pelacor Bandit has Flying that gives it 25% dodge chance while the Sneak allows it to target backline monster of the opponent team.

  • 4th Position: Angelic Madarin has the Triage ability to restore the health of backline monster and Silence will reduce the magic attack of all opponent monster.

  • 5th Position: Chaos Agent was a non-damage 1 mana card with the Dodge ability that will give it 25% dodge chance and with Phase, it can also evade magic attacks while returning damage to the attacker that misses their attack with Backfire.

Did your Strategy Work?

How many odd coincidence there is that you fought someone you know in battle with the almost identical lineup on a Odd Ones Out ruleset? I don't know but this was a great battle and I only have won against my opponent because he's got a lower level card, the difference in the lineup positioning and the RNG in the beginning that causes his Pelacor Bandit to receive damage and it also emphasize my point to use 1 mana card as long as you have the extra mana and an available monster slot to place your monster.

That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
