More Dominion Card Designs
Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
At last, the final part of the Dominion Challenge by @thepeoplesguild is here and once again, the task is to design 3 Dominion cards which consist of 1 Epic and 2 Rare cards, each on different element and uses the abilities that were made by the participants of the 1st part of the challenge so that even those that was not able to participate on the previous challenge could still join.
Anyways, here are my 3 Dominion cards designs for this challenge with the characters made using Adobe Firefly, quite an awful generative A.I. Tool and the only good thing about it is that it was tied on Photoshop which I used to edit the rest of the cards.
Fire Fire: Ashborn Crimson
Lore:
Ashborn Crimson was born and raised in the Republic of Fireboro, located in the Eastern Plateau of the Great Lowlands. As he grow up, he becomes adept to the way of sword and just after his coming of age, he was scouted to become a member of the Republic's military by none other than Chancellor Rush Townsend. He performed his duties magnificently and has easily risen in ranks, only proving that the discerning eyes of the chancellor were not wrong and with him, the Republic's military grows strong despite their few numbers and was able give the Chaos Empire a difficult time despite out numbering the Republic's Military by 5-1. At the end, the Chaos Empire was still able to conquer the Republic and Ashborn have no choice but to only escape. Even if that was the case, he hasn't given up the hope of reclaiming his land against the Chaos Empire and while hiding, was slowly gathering strength to oppose them.

Abilities
Flank: If the unit with this ability is in the first position, then the unit in the second position gains the Reach ability.
Prominence Flame: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, temporarily increase the speed of all ally units by +2 that would last for 2 turns capped at 4 speed.
Enrage: Increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged by x1.5 rounded up.
Demoralize: Reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by -1.
Brawl Synergy
Ashborn Crimson can make for a decent tank unit as even at level 1, it already has 3 melee damage along with 3 armor and 5 health which we can further increase by using it together with either Tarsa or Lorkus and with Flank ability at level 1, it can give the melee unit at the first position the Reach ability while in case it happens to defeat its target, it will be able to activate its Prominence Flame ability by 2 for 2 rounds. At the same time, it also has the Enrage ability that would increase its speed and damage when its health was reduced once it reaches level 6 and at level 8, it gains the Demoralize ability that will reduce the melee damage of all opponent units as long as this card remains at play. For this reasons, Ashborn Crimson will be suitable on brawls with Up Close and Personal as an active ruleset.
Water: Bluenote Snyper
Lore:
Once an abandoned child, Bluenote Snyper was adopted by Mar Toren Trader and teach him everything to learn about trade and being a merchant. Perhaps, it is to gain the trust of the mainland merchants easier but for Bluenote, he owes his life to Mar Toren Trader and has promised to return the favor someday. Aside from being learning trade, he also tries to learn how to use different types of weapons and using bow and arrow is where he was most skilled at and together with with his sharp eyesight, he will always act as the caravan's lookout against thieves and bandits that would try to steal their merchandise.

Abilities
Close Range: Range units can perform ranged attacks from the first position.
Torrential Wave: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, temporarily reduce the speed of all opponent units by +2 that would last for 2 turns capped at 4 speed.
Lookout: A unit with this ability results in adjacent allies taking one less damage from attackers with Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity.
Blind: All enemy Melee & Ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their target by 15%.
Brawl Synergy
As a water unit, Bluenote Snyper uses range attacks which can attack even at the first position since it has the Close Range ability which is a must have during Going the Distance ruleset so if we use it together with Prophet Rosa, it could gain an additional 2 range attack during the tactics phase and at level 1, it also has the Torrential Wave ability that will temporarily reduce the speed of all opponent units for 2 rounds. It also has lookout which will reduce the damage an adjacent unit will receive from Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity ability by 1 beginning at level 4 which will make it for a good card to be placed on Taunt units such as Wave Brood while on max level, it gains the Blind ability that will give 15% evasion chance on all ally units as long as it remains on play. As this card only cost for 4 mana, this can be very suitable on brawls with Little League ruleset.
Dragon: Naden Ryuu
Lore:
Among all the dragons, Naden Ryuu was one of a kind. As a Serpent Dragon, she does not have any wings like the other dragons and yet, she can freely sore to the sky. At the same time, she also has the ability to transform into a form of a young woman which allowed her to interact into the different species across Praetoria under the orders of the elder dragons and monitor the actions of the Chaos Empire. But even after reporting to the Dragons the threat that the Chaos Empire holds, to the whole Splinterlands, they still refuses to take actions and this has led for Naden to rebel against the Dragons. Transforming herself into her human form, she travels across Praetoria to find people with specific type of abilities which would help to oppose the Chaos Empire. Soon their name will be known across Praetoria as the Dominion.

Abilities
Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
Void Armor: Magic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
Dragon Force: For every opponent that the domineer defeats, temporarily increase all the stats of all ally units by +1 and give non-flying units the Flying ability effective for 2 turns with the stat boost capped at 3.
Phase Ward: At the start of battle, the unit in front of this unit gains the Phase ability.
Oppress: Does double damage when attacking an enemy that has no attacks.
Brawl Synergy
With both Flying and Void Armor at level 1, Naden Ryuu becomes a suitable card to use either on Earthquake or Wands Out ruleset, much more when it reaches level 3 where it gains Phase Ward and gives the Phase ability on a unit that is next to it and the Oppress ability at max level will allow for it to inflict double damage on units with no attack. It also has Dragon force at level 1 which will increase the stats of all ally units by +1 and gives Flying ability on non- flying units, effective for 2 turns. Being it a dragon unit, it can be used along with any of the available element for brawls making it avery flexible card.
Some Behind the Scene Work
Resizing the card frame | Adding background and character |
---|---|
Adding stats and element icons | Adding stats numbers |
Adding Card name and abilities
It takes around 1 hour for me to get done with the first card but after that, it became significantly easier to create the other two since I already have the icons and stats in the right position and will only need to edit them so the other two cards would require another 30- 40 minutes to make and if we add the thumbnail photo, the total will be 2 hours though while I was editing the image, I was also playing the game.
Closing
And with that, I was finally done with my Dominion card designs. They may look overpowered at first look but considering that this cards will only be played on brawls and can only be purchased by merits, it will take a long time in order for them to reach max level. Aside from that only guilds with Level 10 barracks will be able to use them at max level. Overall, making the designs was really fun so despite me dropping my rating from 3980 to 3690 while making them, I was very satisfied with the final outcome.
Thanks for reading and see you at the next post.

Excellent! Always look forward to your TPG Challenge posts, dude. Appreciate the cool touch of the building process you've included this time, too. Thanks for always participating, Saydie!
Yeah. I think the process of creating cards will make for an interesting post and was planning to make a more detailed one that will explain the entire process that will also serve as tutorial in using editing tools.
