New Jackpot Cards Are Live

PUM.png

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Busy Beaver.png

It was still just a month ago when the new Conclave Arcana Rewards has been released, with lots of new interesting cards to chase for and some new unexpected synergies to be found and yet, Splinterlands has surprised us once again with a new set of card, which just like the Conclave Arcana Reward, it can be acquired through the Glint shop as jackpot prizes. But it will not be classified as part of the Rewards or Promo cards but rather, it will be under the extra category, similar to Arena Fanatic, which means that they were also not soulbound and can be traded and transferred right away.

Anyway, I just want to look into this new jackpot cards, to see how they can potentially fit in the modern meta.

New Jackpot Cards

For this new batch of Extra cards, there are 5 different cards, all of which are Dual-element, meaning they can use by different archons as long as they share a common element, not to mention the Bloodline Dominion which allows cards to be used by an archon, as long as they share the same bloodline. But the biggest surprise for this cards is that you will not only be able to get the regular and gold foil version of the cards in the jackpot, for the first time, black foil, gold foil arcane, and black foil arcane are also included in the jackpot prize. These cards does not have and Production point for land and can only be burned for Glint, but they do have contribute in Conflicts.

Shadowcomb Duskrose

Shadowcomb Duskrose is a melee unit under both Fire and Death element with the Elf Bloodline meaning, it can be used by archons possessing either Fire or Death Element, as well as the Elf Earth Archon Kaylia Silverleaf. For 8 mana common card, it has a good attack with 6 melee damage and 9 health though it was very slow with only 1 speed, but that will be great during Reverse Speed ruleset since this card can able to attack in any position due to its Charge ability, and it also have Ambush that allows it to do an attack before round 1 starts. Aside from that, it also has Rust that reduces the armor of all the opponent as well as Fury that inflicts double damage on units with Taunt.

As for its potential max copies, it can have up to 87 regular foil versions and 18 Gold foil versions. If we add that to the other versions of the card, then we will have a total of 145 potential max copies for this card.

Ruinkeeper

The next card is Ruinkeeper, which is an Orc magic unit with both Death and Earth element and can be summoned by the Fire archon Fifthe Bladestone through Bloodline Dominion. It was not bad for a 5-mana card with 3 magic damage, 7 health, 4 armor and 3 speed, while possessing the Void ability that reduces magic damage by half and Lookout that lets adhjacent units to take 1 less damage from Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity attacks. It's only downside was its Reckless ability that inflicts damage on adjacent units each time it has a successful attack, though it will be really great to have during the No Pain, No Gain ruleset, but it will also be really great during Wands Out ruleset.

As for its potential max copies, it can have up to 86 regular foil versions and 9 Gold foil versions. If we add that to the other versions of the card, then we will have a total of 116 potential max copies for this card.

(WEN) Busy Beaver

At this point, should I still add WEN when we already have the much requested Beaver card? Anyway, Busy Beaver was a melee Mundane Beast card with both the Water and Earth Element. It has 6 mana that comes with 3 damage, 8 health, 2 armor and 3 speed, along with with Stun that 50% chance to cause the target to skip a turn, Protect that gives all units with 2 armor, together with Repair that can restore the armor of an ally unit and Armored Strike that will allow this card to attack using its armor.

Since it was also a rare unit its has the same potential max copies of up to 86 regular foil versions and 9 Gold foil versions. If we add that to the other versions of the card, then we will have a total of 116 potential max copies for this card.

Hrolfa

Now, we go with the epic card Hrolfa, which is a Minotaur range unit with both Life and Water Element, and while there is not yet an Archon that shares the same Bloodline with this card (with Loving the Moo turning to be a Canisan), I see this card to fair really well with Elias Max Pruitt as it has both Protect and Repair that could help buff and sustain its Armored Strike ability, aside from its Pinpoint that gives all Sneak attack True Strike, and Dodge that can allow this card to evade both melee and range attacks. When it comes to its stats, it was a 6 mana card with 3 range damage, 5 health, 2 armor and 3 speed.

As for its potential max copies, it can have up to 76 regular foil versions and 8 Gold foil versions, for a total of 97 potential max copies across all foil versions.

Grix

Finally, we had the legendary unit Grix which is a Saurian with both melee and magic attacks while also having both the Earth and Life element. For a 3 mana unit, it is understandable that it does not have the strongest stats with only 1 melee and magic damage, 4 health and 3 speed. But when it comes to the abilities, it has the Taunt ability that forces cards to attack this card, along with Swiftness that increases the speed of all allied units by 1 as long as this card remains in play, and it can return once in battle when it was defeated due to its Rebirth ability, partner that with its Bloodline Tribute ability and all units withe the same bloodline gains +1 boost in stats and +1 power for each shared attack. Here are the units with Saurion Bloodline in the modern under the same element. I do not include the units in other bloodline since There are not yet any Archon with the Saurian Bloodline.

When it comes to its potential max copies, it can have up to 72 regular foil versions and 6 Gold foil versions, for a total of 85 potential max copies across all foil versions.

Closing

Splinterlands is going ballistic in pumping out new things one after another, compared to the previous years, that it is difficult to keep updated with everything, but also because of that that I am most enthusiastic in writing Splinterlands content since I started. I hope that they can keep this phase through the following months.

Thank you for reading my post and see you on the next one!
