No Longshot The Second Time

About 6 weeks ago, I finally won my very first Black Foil card for this account. It was the mint #119 of the Common Death Unit, Grim Bonewhip. Not that fancy since it is only a common card, but was something that I was very happy about, as I finally won my first card after failing to win after 28 draws. But aside from that, I do not expect to get another Black Foil card any time soon. That is where I am wrong because yesterday, I got my second Black Foil card, and this time it was a legendary unit, making it the one of the rarest cards with only 10 Black Foil copies to be ever minted.
And its not as if I had an easy win too. After all, there are a total of 289,966 entries that were entered during the last draw, while I only had 220 entries that gives me about 0.00759 chance of winning in winning in a single draw or approximately 5.81% to be one of the 78 winners in all draws.
Anyway, the card that I won in the last draw was the mint #10 of the melee Earth unit, Skrag the Gnaw.
Skrag the Gnaw
Skrag the Gnaw is an 8-mana Earth unit with the legendary rarity. As a melee unit, it has a max damage of 4, along with 3 speed, 5 armor and 8 health, making it a decent Tank. And although it does not have abilities that reduces the damage it takes from the opponent attacks, it has Thorns that will inflict damage to melee units that will attack this card, as well as the Reflexes ability that prevents an opponent to land a second attack after its first successful attack, which is great against units with multiple attacks, same as to those with Double Strike and Armored Strike.
Aside from those, Skrag the Gnaw also has Cripple, which reduces the max health of the card each time it lands a successful attack, and when it was defeated, its Poison Burst ability will give the attacker the Poison debuff with 50% chance to inflict Poison to its adjacent units. Partner that with the cards Rebirth ability that allows it to self resurrect, then there is a chance that you can Poison your opponent's entire team.
As for its Bloodline, it belongs to Gnomes, so the Death Archon, Razi Clanktrap will be able to summon this unit, where it gains the Painforge ability that will allow it to increase its damage, for each time that it receives damage from Poison or Burning or when damaged by an ally unit.
Battle Showcase
For this battle, only Earth and Dragon are the elements that can be used in battle. Since I had a pretty week Earth Team, I decided to use Akane to have a mix of Dragon and Earth units. As my tank, I used Skrag the Gnaw, but since we have the Noxious Fumes ruleset, its Poison Burst was pretty much useless. However, some of its abilities will have its use in this battle.
First was its Reflexes ability which allows it to dodge the second attack from Azr the Relentless
The second one was its Rebirth ability, which allows it to self resurrect, after it was defeated by Doldrus, where at the same time, the Poison debuff on it was also cleansed.
And Finally, its Thorns ability that inflicts 2 damage to Doomshield Warden when it attacks, turning its health into 5.
After round 3, I finally won the battle with only Skrag the Gnaw that was defeated in my team, and I could even say that I could likely win the battle with or without using the card, but still, playing the card allows me to get a 20% bonus on both my SPS and Glint rewards, which makes using the card worth it. And on the cards defense, the ruleset is a bad matchup or it as it makes one of its abilities useless, and I do not have the right cards to really synergize with it.
Closing
And that was it for the legendary unit Skrag the Gnaw. Since I do not really play much of the Earth team and do not use most of the Conclave Arcana Archons that can be used along with this card, It is less likely that I can utilize the capabilities of this card to the fullest and will likely be stuck in my deck most of that time. Because of that, I will likely just sold this card to the market.
