Purposely Not Pursuing Leaderboard Last Season

The Winterfest Event has just started and I'm sure many players are starting to haunt all of those season limited skins, spending their Glint on loot chests, cause as we speak now, the number of available skins within the pool is starting to dwindle as we see on this site created by beaker007. Well, if you ask me if I have already hunted for the skins, the answer would be yes. Luckily, I was able to pull a Festive Eternal Tofu Skin after spending 300k Glint on Ultimate Chest. My only problem is that I am not Glint poor, so it will be difficult for me to get another batch of Ultimate Chest.
Anyway, since the season has just ended I want to share with you how I performed last season, and my decision of not pursuing the Champion Leaderboard.
Modern Format Season 85 Splinterlands Report
After not getting any leaderboard rewards for two consecutive season because of falling short in rating, I really had my chance to pursue last season. If you take a look on the previous season's leaderboard, I was at rank 101, just 1 rank short to get the lowest reward of 50k Glint, and getting another 1-2 wins is not within the realm of impossibility. However, there was a reason why I decided not to go with is is because if I ended up with 4000 or more rating at the end of the season, I will end up at Champion II and when the new season starts, I will drop in Diamond I and that will make me miss the Diamond I advancement chest which consist of:

Overall, the total of the advancement chest was 58,500 Glint if you purchase them in the shop, which is more with what I will get if I try to stay in the leaderboard. And if you ask about the Champion II advancement chest, I have already got that days before the season ends. I just dropped a few rating and did not play until the season ended.

For modern ranked season 85, I played about the same number of battles in season 84, but I had a 50.81% win rate this time, had I gone and played until the last day, that win rate were likely to increase. But as a result, I had a little increase in my SPS earnings, and I had some decent earnings from participating in tournaments. Un fortunately, I missed 2 brawl cycles so, my brawls earnings has decrease sufficiently.

And with me missing 2 brawl cycles, the Merits that I get also significantly reduced, but the reason why my Fortune Entry was lower compared to last season, is because I forgot to claim it, not that it will likely to change the outcome of the draw.

When it comes to my Glint earnings, I'm finally back in earning more than 500k Glint per season, even without the leaderboard rewards, which is great because, I was able to afford buying a batch of ultimate chest.

When it comes to my rental cost, my total expenses this season was 27,935.96 DEC or about $ 16.13. And if we deduct it from my SPS earnings, I will be left with around $11.97 in earnings, which is twice what I earned compared to last season.
CA Reward and Extra set Progress
Once again, using the site splinterhub.com, we now have an easier way to monitor the progress of our CA reward cards though this does not include the Extra set, so that will be manually monitored. And for this season, my common cards jumped from 24% to 35%, my rare collection jumped from 19% to 31% and my epic collection jumped from 3% to 7%.
As for my Extra collection, I now have more than enough copies to have my Shadowcomb Duskrose at level 2, while just a copy shy of having my Beaver at level 2 and 7 BCX short for my Longshot to reach level 3.
