Introduction

Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

I'm here for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Rise of Commons. It is a ruleset that only allows the use of Rare and Common units in battle.

The Battle that I will show to you this week was from @bltzr-wizard-726 which is a scholar account I'm playing from Balthazar Guild with max level Chaos Legion deck which placed 35th on the leaderboard last season and was currently playing on Diamond League. Before I show you the battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.

For this battle, we have Lost Magic which means that magic units cannot be used in battles along with the featured ruleset Rise of the Commons that also makes only common and rare monsters to be used in battle. Abilities cannot also be used because for the last ruleset, we got Back to Basics. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:

  • Summoner: Astral Entity - Reduces the armor of all opponent monsters by -2 and as a summoner, it can give all allied monsters with Dodge that increase the evasion chance of the monster along with its ability to use Resurrect that can revive an allied unit once.

  • 1st Position: Ever-Hungry Skull - Although it only has 1 health it has 11 armor and with no magic available, it might as well have 12 health which can be revived once again with the same armor by Astral Entity.

  • 2nd Position: Pelacor Deciever - Comes with huge health and was very fast coming from a 5 mana card which makes it more likely to evade attacks partnered by the Dodge from astral Entity.

  • 3rd Position: Gargoya Devil - A range monster that although was not that fast have a decent amount of damage and got its own armor so that it cannot be defeated right away on battle.

  • 4th Position: Dhampir Stlaker - Cost 7- mana just like Gargoya Devil but was a little faster than it and at the same time deals the most damage among my monsters.

  • 5th Position: Xenith Archer - with 2- mana, it has a decent health of 5 and can inflict 2 damage to the opponent.

  • 6th Position: Soul Strangler - Uses up my remaining mana and monster slot but for a 3- mana monster, it comes with 4 range damage.

Did your Strategy Work?

As you can see on this battle, not only do I have fought against a fellow scholar, we also played a very similar line-up and the outcome of this match has been solely reliant on RNG. If by next time, we fought using the very same lineup with the same conditions, I might as well be the the one to lose next time but a win is a win and I will always take this with me.

That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
