Two Strikes, One Round: Pelacor Arbalest
Hello there! @Saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
I'm here again for this week's Share Your Battle Challenge with the featured card: Pelacor Arbalest. It's a Life element range card from the Chaos Legion series. For the cost of only 6 mana, this card can attack an opponent twice which is a very rare ability and makes your team as if there is one more member of your team.
Before we proceed with the battle, let us explore more about this card.
Pelacor Arbalest
Pelacor Arbalests are armed with powerful crossbows enchanted to fire bolts at extremely long distances. They are trained to wield a crossbow in each hand and can fire both simultaneously with deadly accuracy. Compounded with the Pelacor's excellent eyesight and nimble dexterity, these sharpshooters are extremely useful as snipers on the battlefield.
The Silver Shield Knight backpedaled, parrying blow after blow as the two Venari snarled and swung their swords at him in a savage and ruthless onslaught. He stumbled. Another blow sent him reeling. He fell onto his back.
The Venari leaped upon him, swords raised. He struggled to lift his own sword, but he couldn't fight them both. He was going to die.
The feathered shaft of a bolt slammed into center of each Venaris' chest simultaneously. The pair crumpled in a heap, unseeing eyes staring at the sky.
The Silver Shield Knight squinted into the sun. Above him, a Pelacor Arbalest hovered, his large white wings beating at the air. In each hand, he held an empty crossbow, still aimed at the fallen Venari.

Card Review
Pros
With General Sloan as the summoner this card gains +1 range.
Can deal double damage every round with Double Strike.
Flying ability will help to dodge some melee and range attack and to be unaffected by the Earthquake rule set.
Cons
Range monsters cannot attack in default when in first position.
Low health will be a cause to be an easy target for Opportunity monsters.
Slow speed means it can be attacked first before it can even do its job.
Double Strike is an ability that allows monsters to attack twice every round so you can think of it that you have one extra monster in your line- up that can deal additional damage every time you play monster with this ability. Currently, there were only twelve monsters that posses this ability and only six of them are playable for the Modern format. On those that you can play on the modern league, three of them belongs belongs to the Dragon Element and the other there is spread between Water, Earth and Life which is the Pelacor Arbalest. Since it is a range monster, as long as it is not in the first position, it can attack twice per round. It has small health and slow so it is an easy target for Opportunity but the Flying at level 5 will help to dodge some of those attacks. It greatly synchronizes the the Life Summoner General Sloan.
Because of the shortcomings of Pelacor Arbalest in terms of health and speed, I usually pair it together with Shieldbearer that has the Taunt ability to prevent monsters from attacking this card and either with Time mage that can Slow the opponents or Supply Runner that has Swiftness to add +1 Speed to all ally monsters.

---|---|---|---|
Summoner | 4 | General Sloan is a Life Summoner that gives +1 range damage to all range monsters. Monster Cap: Common- 3, Rare- 2, Legendary- 1 | |
1st | 3 | Blinding Reflector at Level 3 does not offer any abilities but has decent health and armor for only 3 mana. | |

3rd | 6 | Pelacor Arbalest with the Double Strike will be the main damage dealer of this line up. Together with the +1 range increase, this will deal 6 damage per turn. | |
4th | 2 | Halfling Alchemist with the Halving ability will reduce the damage of the monster that it hit by half. | |

Battle Phase
At the start of the round, both of our summoners has their effects activated, giving +1 range for my range monsters and additional armor for the opponent. I placed Pelacor Arbalest within the middle of my line- up in order to protect it from both back and front attack. On the other hand, the opponent has did not maximize the mana cap and only place 2 cards but with Djinn Chwala having huge armor and health is a threat to my melee monsters.
At the end of the first round, Djinn Chwala is down to 5 health and its attack halve to 1 so it will deal less damage but the Thorns will still deal 2 damage to my melee monsters.
The overwhelming attack of Pelacor Arbalest drains the remaining health of Djinn Chwala with it's first attack.
With the 2nd attack Pelacor Arbalest also deal the finishing blow to Naga Assassin ending the battle in only 2 rounds.
The battle has ended in only 2 rounds which is a very fast battle all thanks to Pelacor Arbalest plus the satisfaction of having to end 2 monsters in one go.

Did Your Strategy Works
It really works well to the point that it was Pelacor Arbalest that is the one that deal the final blow to all the opponents Monster.
Do You Like Pelacor Arbalest?
I like Pelacor Arbalest because of it's Double Strike but I will mostly use it if I know that the rule set is something that will fill the deficiencies of this card.
What Will You Try to do next?

This is one of my alternate combo wherever I play at gold with the Equalizer ruleset is active where the health of every monster from both teams will be based on the monster with the most health so I usually put tanks with low health but huge armor that is being sustained by repair while both Swiftness and Slow works hand in hand and finally, The Pelacor Arbalest will be dropping huge range damage twice each round.

Final Thoughts
Pelacor Arbalest might not have the highest speed or health but it's ability to attack twice every round is an asset that is always needed to put in consideration for building a Life deck. Right now you can just buy a gold foil of tis card for a very cheap price considering it's cost to collection power ratio.
