We Got Three Voucher Cards Coming

Hello there! @saydie here, manually playing Splinterlands everyday!

In less than a day, the black foil auction for the no.1 mint of Cloveria Morth'lana will be concluded and since it was the last black foil arcane card to be auctioned, there will surely be a bidding war close to the end of the auction. Meanwhile, there is only 6 days remaining before the general sale of the card to end, so for those who were planning to purchase the card, look out for the remaining time. And since the card were soon to leave the Voucher shop, it means that there will be a new Voucher card that will replace it, but to our surprise, there will be 3 new Voucher cards that will soon be available in the shop.
In this post, I will try to look into the upcoming Voucher cards and see how they will place in the modern meta.

New Voucher Cards

Ever since we got the Voucher shop, it will be the first time that we got multiple Voucher cards that will be available for sale. Indeed, there was the Fortune Draw for Gold Foil Arcane and the Black Foil Arcane auction, but that is still the same card, just of different different foils. So, this was really unprecedented. But if the sale of each card goes well, we might be able to burn a lot of Vouchers, more than what we minted, which is originally the goal for the Voucher shop, yet we were only able to succeed once with Kelan Gaines.
Anyway, here are the tree upcoming Voucher cards.
Grayhammer Painsmith

Grayhammer Painsmith was an 8-mana dual element unit with both the Death and Earth attributes, as well as the Dwarf Bloodline. Meaning that through Bloodline Dominion, we can also summon this card using the Fire Archon Fithe Bladestone and also gain the Void ability that will reduce damage from magic attacks. For an 8-mana card, it does not have much attack power with only 2 range damage at max level, but it has a total of 13 health that makes it a suitable tank, specially since it has the Heal ability that can allow it to sustain the damage it received as well as the Close Range ability that will allow it to attack even at the first position. And while it initially only has 2 damage, it's attack can increase by +1 whenever it was damage by Poison or Burning or when hit by an ally, such as cards like Ruinkeeper or Gonach Excavator with the Reckless ability. Aside from those abilities, Grayhammer Painsmith also has Rust that reduces the armor of all the opponent units as long as it remains in play and when it was in the last position, Shadow Focus will give it the Camouflage ability, but also cannot attack, but in exchange, all ally units gains + 1 attack and the Determined ability.
Aside from Fithe Blades, this card can also works well with Risqruel Drath, gaining an additional damage. And defending on your situation, you may be able to use either one of its tactics.
As for the preferred modifiers, this card could work well during Keep Your Distance as a good tank that can also attack and to capitalize on its Painforge ability, using it during Global Warming, Collateral Damage and Noxious Fumes can also be a good option.
Conjurer's Hubris

For the next card, we have the 11-mana Conjurer's Hubris, which is a dual-element rare unit with both the Water and Fire attributes under the Elemental Bloodline, so it means that it gains the Poison ability when used together the Water Archon Loving the Moo, then it can be a menace in the battlefield once you gave it the Blast and Magic Reflect ability, so that it can inflict additional damage on cards that is adjacent to its target, specially since it can attack both with melee and magic, anywhere into the field because of its Apex Strike ability that will targets the enemy unit with the most power. While on it, it could also Stun the target with 50% chance for the target to skip attacking for a turn, and also Expose the target with an 80% chance to remove Immunity and other abilities that reduces or prevents damage to a card. Before I forgot, it also has the Ambush ability, so it can attack, even before the first round starts.
As for potential Archon synergies, I could also think of Lorkus that will increase both the melee and magic attack of Conjurer's Hubris and gain health while preventing the opponent from healing if given the Life Leech and Affliction during tactics. I also think it will get along with the Fire archon Hanv if it was given the Double Strike ability.
For rulesets, having this card during Brute Force will allow for you to eliminate the opponent unit with the most damage regardless of their position, thanks to its Apex Strike ability, and it can be also easily used when Might Makes Flight was an active modifier.
Lorn

And for the last card, we have the legendary unit Lorn, which is a 6-mana dual-element unit with both Life and Dragon attribute, under the Treefolk Bloodline. For 6-mana, having 3 damage is not bad and this card was both quite fast and tank-y with a max of 3 armor, 9 health and 5 speed, but it does not need to be a tank since it has the Charge ability that allows it to attack in any position. And if the opponent has either the Void, Shield or Forcefield ability, it will inflict true damage +1 using the Relentless Strike ability, while for every time it inflicts damage to the health of the target, its health will increase by 50% of the damage it inflicted thanks to its Lifeleech ability. Not to mention, it also has the Painforge ability that can increase its damage by +1 whenever it was damage by Poison or Burning or when hit by an ally.
I can see this card working well with any of the legendary Life Archons, such as giving the Triage and Scavenger ability when used with the Eternal Tofu, giving it the Piercing and Armored Strike with Ellias Max Pruitt or the Piercing and True Strike ability with Captain Frankie.
And for rulesets, it has just the right mana to be eligible for Junior Varsity where only cards below 6 mana can be used, then we can also use it during Heavy Metal where only units with armor are playable and can be a vital card during Up Close and Personal modifier.

Closing
Overall, I think that all the upcoming Voucher cards were great and with different rarities of cards to choose from, people will have more options on where to spend their Vouchers, while helping their decks to become stronger. Among the three, the card that I want to buy the most was Conjurer's Hubris, given by its potential card synergies, though its big downside is that it cost a lot of mana.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!

I think ALL THREE of these new voucher cards will find a place in the metagame, especially the rare and legendary units!
Yeah... Being dual element already offers them so much utility.
These voucher cards sure make my nodes worth owning!
